Stay on the page you logged in from?

I see this request has been posted previously – 2 years ago. It is still a niggle so I am posting as new request in the hope it might be possible.

I totally concur but:

is quicker than logging in, ending up on the home page and looking for the thread again.

While we are at this, is there a way to truly stay logged in?

I keep logging every time I visit.
I use it on iOS and MacOS with Safari
