HI!
What is the best way to secure an access to the Escape Lounge in STN when you have no PP in your own name?
My gf needs to have a guaranteed access on a specific date, I won’t be travelling so can’t use my guest access. What is the best option, rather than paying £40+ for the access? Dragonpass or else ? Thanks!
Get an amex gold card, has 2 lounge passes.
Tho I’d never say any of the card access passes are guaranteed entry to a uk lounge.
thanks for your reply, i should have pointed out that getting a new card would not be a solution. unless i get her an additional card holder on my plat in time.
As @slidey said, a card won’t guarantee you access. Especially now. The lounge will prioritise the paying passengers. I was turned away twice in my last 4 attempts.
Thanks Jacob, so anyway, it would make sense to pay and that’s it. She needs a guaranteed seat indeed.
i have been lucky, rejected just a couple of time so far and it was mainly LGW
A friend has been using Stansted recently and has consistently been turned away. I’d say the only way to get in is to buy their access and personally I wouldn’t say it’s worthwhile, it’s small and busy. If you’re buying access to get somewhere quiet for some reason (e.g .conference call) then I wouldn’t say this is the place!
Emirates resume their flights on Aug 1 so it’ll only be getting worse as they use the lounge too
I can’t find a more relevant topic to post in.
Has anyone had any luck using the Barclays dragonpass+ to pre-book the lounge at Stansted? I’ve given up trying to use my platinum PP and thought I’d try dragonpass instead to reserve a space. I want to book 9.45 but was only given 8.45 as an option.
As a point of interest I tried some other dates – and it’s the same every day, only 8.45 is ever available to book. Am I getting this wrong somehow or is anyone else having trouble?

What’s the problem with Amex plat PP? I was able to reserve last month with no issues.
On timings, check the lounge official open and close timings. They probably stop reservations an hour or two before close. I booked a time 30 mins earlier and they still allowed me in.
I don’t get the option to reserve with priority pass at stansted, do you?
And I mean 8.45am!

I just tried and it works for 2pm. But not for the time you mentioned – space likely blocked by other airlines.
Once the Emirates lounge opens Escape should free up for the 3 hours or so before those departures.
Hiya,
Flying on RJ in economy but have BA Silver. Is this the lounge I can use or I cant use any lounge at Stansted?

Check the Oneworld website under lounge finder

There is no other lounge so RJ must have a deal for their passengers to get in.
My question on Stansted Escape Lounge would be how to get out not how to get in.
Have used it regularly in the past never turned away. There at crack of dawn at their opening though, solo and, I suspect, remembered as a regular that always states how short/shortish a time I’ll be there, and doesn’t have a history of drinking the bar dry etc. Lovely staff but a totally too small lounge and slightly above T5 Aspire in offerings but only just.
As good as no loos in lounge and frankly even if mobbed and paying, the Prêt at the entrance of the corridor to it is a far better bet.
Travelling on 21.10 flight Stansted to Dubai economy but see this escape lounge closes 730pm with F&B stopping at 7pm.
Have Priorty pass with plat Amex – Don’t really want to pay £6 each to guarantee entry at 6pm ish for just 90 mins – think chances are good just turning up at door? Thanks
Three times in last 6 weeks turned away and told 2 hour wait and told to pay to book although have PP.

Should probably have paid your £6 for the 2nd and 3rd visits then!
Any Stansted regulars around – wondering what are my chances of getting into the Escape lounge with the Priority Pass around mid-morning on a weekday (not in school holidays)?
Debating whether to pay to pre-book or to risk it and spend the money in Pret if we don’t get in (not least because the lounge reviews seem to be far from glowing).
Middle of day is generally OK. It’s the only time it might be better than any other place to get a drink or a snack, in Stansted
100% not worth paying even £1 to get in IMHO
I have used the lounge at Stansted a couple of times this year and often arrive and the staff say there is a 1.5 hour wait to get in the lounge but you’re welcome to join the virtual queue.
The inexperienced people in front of me then walk off. I leave my details. In April I got the text to come back 9 minutes later and in September 2 minutes later!

Indeed, I think I even waited sub-two minutes once before. But even if you’ve ‘won’ against the inexperienced, it never fails to disappoint!
