Forums Other Destination advice Stockholm – family stay

    Hello all, planning on going to Stockholm next year.

    Can anyone recommend a family friendly hotel to house my toddler in?

    I know space will come at a premium cost or would it just be worth just getting an AirBnB?

    One thing I’d say about Stockholm is that you won’t like it when you first arrive, but after a while you won’t want to leave

    We stayed in the new Scandic (Continental?) opposite the railway station a couple of years ago. As its new it has decent sized rooms, unlike older Swedish hotels. If you’re pushing a buggy around then being somewhere central makes it easy, given that this is a walking city.

    We’re going in 12 days (yay!) to the Radisson Waterfront for a w/end.
    If interested, don’t put 3 of you in the search engine: just get a double then ask for a rollaway.
    It’s actually attached to the train station for direct transport to/from the airport (high priority
    for us with such a short stay).

    That’s reassuring!

    Thanks I’ll check them out. There seems to be quite a range of Scandic & Choice hotels but all look much of a muchness.

    Thanks, was just looking at that exact hotel!

    We stayed at the Radisson Waterfront about 3 years ago. Hotel was typical of brand. Good breakfast. Location was excellent as adjacent to station.

    Thanks all ended up booking Radisson Waterfront, looks very conveniently placed and a decent rate via the app.

    Also booked Lydmar – but we’ll see about that nearer the time, if Kwarteng is to thank.

    @Azza
    , just back from Waterfront (with our 8-yr old). Worked perfectly. Literally on top of the airport train terminus (NB kids don’t pay). Within walking distance of just about everywhere. As others mentioned, breakfast great, sweets & flavoured water in the (v. pleasant) lobby. The city was a revelation, we all loved it.

    That’s very good to know. Thanks for the update.
