Received a weird email this morning and not sure what to make of it – I don’t seem to recall being a “Dual Avios Rewards Member” and holding both “Barclays Avios Rewards” and “Barclays Avios Plus” unless I’m missing something altogether…??
Your Airport Lounge benefits have changed
As you are no longer a Dual Avios Reward customer with Barclays, your Airport Lounge membership accessed using DragonPass Premier+ has also changed.
Please note, any unused complimentary passes have now been cancelled. If you booked any complimentary lounge visits while you had access to Dual Avios Reward Benefits, which you have not yet used, these will also be cancelled, and you’ll need to rebook and pay for any lounge visits you wish to take.Your Airport Lounge benefits now include:
You can buy passes for yourself and your guests at a discounted rate of £18.50 per person, per visit allowing you access to over 1,000 Airport Lounges worldwide, so you can enjoy a premium travel experience, every time you fly
Discounts and vouchers that can be redeemed at over 500 Airport Restaurants and Cafes
Enjoy exclusive discounts and vouchers on a variety of Spa treatments at selected Airport Spas and Nail Bars
The opportunity to pre-book spaces at selected lounges for £5 per person per visit to avoid disappointment during busy travel periods
Please find below your 16-digit membership number, which allows you to register on the app and website, as well as access lounges and enjoy discounts at restaurants, spas, and nail bars.Want to reinstate your Dual Avios Reward Benefits?
If you’d like benefit once more from being a Dual Avios Reward customer with Barclays, you’ll need to have both Barclays Avios Rewards and Barclaycard Avios Plus to become eligible again.
I got the same few days ago and have contacted them to ask what has triggered the email. Still waiting for feedback. Also, when I try to login to the App it says account is suspended.
Also if i try to login to the DragonPass app or website it says my membership has been suspended and to contact their support team!?

Same.
The only thing I can think of is that I applied for a Premier Account yesterday and was accepted for it. Did you do the same?

+1 – exactly the same situation for me
So I actually received two different membership number from DragonPass Premier+, all mentioning the Avios Plus card. WIll I get double the fun then? 🙂
The membership number is still the same for me from the original email and the one received this morning.
Just the “change in benefits” – although the benefits are still exactly the same with regards to purchasing the passes etc. as they were before.I wasn’t aware that if you were an Avios Rewards member as well as an Avios Plus member you got free passses?

What a great opportunity.
Not sure if anyone got this email from Barclays Premier account. If you have both Barclays Premier with Avios Rewards and Avios Plus Card, you will get 4 free lounge access starting from 7th December:
Airport lounge passes
If you have Barclays Avios Rewards and a Barclaycard Avios Plus card, from 7 December you’ll also receive four complimentary airport lounge passes each year. Each pass gives access to an eligible airport lounge for one person, or can be exchanged for other benefits like a meal voucher or spa treatment at selected locations. These passes can be used by you and any guests that are travelling with you.
The four complimentary passes will be available for you to use within the DragonPass Premier+ app or at barclays.dragonpasspremierplus.com shortly after 7 December, and will be added annually on, or shortly after, the anniversary that you became a dual reward customer. Any airport lounge passes that aren’t used to make a booking by your anniversary date will expire and won’t be carried over into the next year.
Also changes to the anniversary reward
Changes to your anniversary reward
From early next year, we’ll offer you a choice of anniversary reward between a cabin upgrade voucher and a specified amount of Avios. We’ll write to you to tell you if you have a choice of reward, how you can confirm your choice and when you’ll receive it. If you haven’t made a choice a month before your anniversary, you’ll be awarded the free cabin upgrade voucher.
That kind of makes sense.
I guess the system can see I hold both the Avios Plus card and a Premier Bank Account, though Avios Reward isn’t activated on the account yet since I only opened it yesterday – the system seems to be a bit hasty 🙂
Though that still doesn’t explain why the membership has been completely suspended…

What a great opportunity.
Honestly @Lady London, if l didn’t know you, l would genuinely think you were grateful for such a great opportunity. I laughed out loud at your comment!
The only benefit of the DragonPass mail was to help me know that I got the credit card. Jesus. You sign up for this card, and they don’t send you any email of any kind. A few days later, you get this dragonpass mail and then a couple of days later you get your card in the mailbox.
I got a welcome email from DragonPass, ignored it as I’d never use it. Then got the email referenced in this thread telling my benefits have changed.
These are the only two emails I’ve gotten regarding signing up for the Premier Current Account and the Avios Plus CC. As Islington234 says above, all the emails did was let me know I had in fact been accepted for some sort of product at Barclays.
Credit card arrived a few days later, debit card arrived a few days after that. Have not received the PIN for either, which again isn’t too much of a problem as the CC pin is in the app and I’d never use the debit card.
Still havent received confirmation that I have done everything needed for the 100k, no email about my switch, no welcome email to either product.
Just glad I switched a throwaway Monzo account to get the extra 25k and not my actual bank account, as so far this experience has been complete garbage. If this is how they treat their “premier” accounts, I would hate to see how they treat other customers. There is no way they will be keeping my business after 4 months unless something drastically improves.
I got a reply to the issue from them below:
I am unable to give a time scale on how long this issue will take to resolve, I can only advise that if you are looking to travel soon and have not receive an update of this then you can contact us back and we can look to issue you some e-certs which you can use for the mean time during your travel.
If you would like more information please see https://barclays.dragonpasspremierplus.com, our app ‘DragonPass Premier+ or call us on 0333 220 5599*. Our telephone lines are open Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am – 6pm.
I can only imagine they deliberately chose a lounge partner as useless as they are a bank, struggling to make head nor tale of the whole byzantine labyrinth. I suppose chasing the 100k avios will be fun after the 4 months, I think we’re supposed to wait a further 60 days. I’ll be then binning this useless bank
