Struggling to book Iberia via Exec Club – what can call centre do?

I’m planning to book some Iberia flights to South America, ex Madrid, using a 241.

These flights are not currently showing on the BA website, despite being less than 355 days out, and despite showing as operating on the Iberia website. To clarify, it’s not that they’re showing sold out – they’re not showing at all.

I called Exec Club, and was told that there was no way they could book these flights until they show on their system. Curiously, I was then told that the flights do show on their internal system if I book them with connecting flights from London, but there’s no way for them to book them ex Madrid without the connection.

Does anybody know if this is accurate please? My suspicion/hope is that a good call centre operator will be able to book me onto the flights I need – I just need to call back until I get one, but any insights would be much appreciated.

Last time I booked it wasn’t 355 days out but was like 1/2 weeks or so behind. Note only 2x J released per flight. Just search MAD out to South America. Then you’d need to call to get South america-mad-lhr. Aa.com is useful for Iberia searches. Use Nonstop and Business.

Ps. BOG/MEX has 3x flights per day so much more chance of getting availability. The other destinations are 1x a day if I’m not mistaken.

Thanks @Zapato1060. Frustratingly, BOG/MEX are available to book 355 days out, but MVD (my preferred destination) doesn’t appear to be.

BA claims it can book LON – MVD via MAD, but not MAD to MVD directly.

I’m not sure what I can do other than wait and hope the seats become bookable, before someone else takes them.

Weird that BA state they cant do MAD-BOG for example even if their website easily does? Frustratingly you cannot use 241 until it shows on ba.com so your best bet is to daily check. IB is showing 24 Oct available so 359 days out. BA showing 12 Oct available only but only showing dates up to Oct 18.
