T5 Lounge options for early morning flight

I have a 6:30 am flight so a 3:30 check in at LHR T5. The BA lounge says it doesn’t open till 5am. Are there any other lounge options that are open? I have One World silver and Amex plat so all the options that go with that.

Well, there’s only PP and Aspire and Google suggests neither open earlier than 5am

Do you really need to arrive 3 hours early though? Even without silver, I’d aim for closer to 5am and head straight to Galleries for it opening.

I have to check a bag and it’s on one of the strike days, so I figured I probably should.
I guess I could try to leave it a bit later and the fact that they don’t open till 5 suggests they don’t expect people to be there any earlier anyway. How long do people usually arrive before the flight these days? – I’ve always been overly cautious.

Probably best to arrive around 4:30am. Should give you plenty of time to check in and clear security through the priority lane (which will be quiet at that time) to arrive at the lounges around 5am when club galleries opens, I’d opt for Galleries north lounge and find a spot on the terrace, it’s more light and airy than the south lounges.

The only thing I would say is that if you want a more substantial breakfast (e.g. Full English) you may wish to pop downstairs to the Plaza Premium lounge

You can check your bag 1600-2200 the night before, if that’s convenient.

@VickyTM I’ve had such early flights and found BA checkins / bag drop don’t open till relatively shortly before those flights anyway. I’d be at Prêt as that’s what I suspect you might have time for.

I have the similar question.

Flying to Dalaman from T5 at 0735 in WT in July. Already planning to do the overnight bag drop via the pods at Thistle but earliest lounge open I can find is Plaza Premium 05:30 am which I have pre booked with my free dragon passes.

but I am wondering how early to get to the airport security to make the lounge at 0530? What time does security in T5 actually open?

also wary that if flight departs from either gates in either 5B or 5C I am going have to leave the lounge at 06:50 which is isn’t a huge amount of time for breakfast and spot of shopping.

Security opens around 0500 but could be a few minutes earlier or later. Depending on the exact date you probably want to get there before 0450, if you get through early then you can possibly do the shopping first.
