Good experience with Avis at TFS. ok, its offsite, the bus ride is upto 10 mins, but the car pickup / drop off was very slick, if you’ve preregistered… Staff were very good

I second that. And there’s a BP just beyond the junction to the depot. Easy to fill up before returning your car.

Yes this is my experience too.

I’d also recommend. Good prices, good service, good cars, and none of the nonsense that you sometimes get with car hire. Much better than the lying, thieving crooks in TFS Europcar – but that’s another story.

Was just coming to ask a related question. I had written off Avis as offsite is a pain but this has given pause for thought.

Does anyone have any on-site options they can recommend? Or would Avis still come out top?

    Thanks !

It’s the opposite of a recommendation, but I was defrauded by Europcar in TFS a few years ago, and Europcar customer services repeatedly blanked my attempts to complain.

    Avoid.

Based on a sample of one rental, would highly recommend autoreisen. They had very good ‘Which?’ review scores as well

Used and highly recommend both Cicar and Autoreissen.

Cicar we used in 2021 and the queue was about 30 people long and took over an hour.

Autoresien are great, the cars are often garbage but you get no hassle at all.

    Avoid.

I though that was generally well known, including their other brands.

The huge queue for cicar at TFS can be avoided by leaving the airport and going to the windows on the outside.

Fine if you don’t book an automatic….
