We’re going to Thailand next year and I am wondering if there are any unmissable opportunities to stay at some fabulous hotel with points. Anything that can convert from Amex MRs. A beach hotel would be ideal.
I need to decide whether I want to convert 140,000 MRs for a stay somewhere else this summer, where I’d be getting around 1.1p per MR point.

Using MR points for hotels is, in general, relatively poor value (not terrible, but poor compared to air miles).
If you decide to go ahead, you are probably limited to Marriott and Hilton.
If you can buy points directly from the hotel during a sale, thats better than the above option.But tbf, many independent hotels in Thailand are so good, the choice will come down to location and facilities.
Agree with @BBbetter – decide where you want to go and what you want to see, then pick the hotel that most appeals to you in the vicinity from TA – you will get more bang from your Baht, than from your AMEX points.
