Forums Payment cards Virgin Atlantic Trying to get to Thailand from LHR using Virgin companion voucher

  • 25 posts

    Hello,

I’m a little confused on what options I have for using my Virgin companion voucher. I thought I read somewhere that I could use it on Virgin, Delta, KLM and Air France, but another website said that was Clubcard vouchers only. Is there a difference? Virgin Customer Service said Virgin Atlantic only, but I’m concerned they have it wrong.

Would anyone know if I can only use on Virgin?

My 2nd question would be, if its Virgin only, does anyone have any tips of the best way of using them to get to Thailand? Looking at travelling any time between end Oct and Nov.

    Many thanks!

It is Virgin Atlantic only, and check their route map.
You can fly either from Shanghai or India. However, even that’s not comfortable. They are about 4hr flight time to BKK. Or you change in DBX, if VS starts their flights at that time to DBX.

You mention you’ll travel between “end Oct and Nov”, that’s not a very wide time frame, you may need to be flexible a bit if you want to book this late to Asia.

I agree, it’s not ideal, but I’d like to use the voucher to get to Thailand so looking like LHR-DEL then DEL-BKK. Shame they limit it to Virgin, Air France LHR-CDG-BKK would have been ideal.

    Thanks for your help.

You can use the voucher to BLR, advantage being better availability, small, clean and nicer airport with a good lounge. On the downside, you’ll have to connect on Indigo, an LCC to BKK. Its a good airline, though. If you must need to fly on TG, you’ll have to stay in a hotel for a day atleast. On the plus side, the city is less humid, some interesting places to visit if you’d like to take a break.
