Forums Other Airport lounges Two lounge questions, two airports

Heathrow – flying to Singapore with BA soon (then Scoot to Perth).
We arrive at T5 from Belfast with about four hours to kill. This will be our first BC experience, I’ve watched all the videos and the lounges seem fine to me, but they don’t seem to get much love on this forum!
Given the time scale is it worthwhile (or even feasible) to head over to T3 and try one or two of the other One World lounges?

Doha – we’re returning from Australia on Qatar. We have about 1.5 hours to kill at Doha. I know there’s an excellent buffet available in al Mourjan but could anyone say if 90 minutes would be enough time to order at the a la carte section without rushing our meal too much?

Doha – 1.5hrs goes by in a flash. Last time I had that amount of time I had time for a glass of water at Al Safwa lounge then asked the barman when I should head to my gate and he said “Now, you should be gone by now.”

Heathrow – don’t think transferring T5 to T3 airside is possible to use lounges. IIRC a personal shopping commitment used to allow an escorted terminal change to spend big. But it’s not otherwise a thing

@Holidayguy – you can’t go to T3 from T5 to visit a lounge these days, so your best bet is the BA lounge at T5B (although I think North in particular is somewhat maligned) and your long haul flight is likely to go from B or C gates except when they throw in a random A10 bus gate which would mean having to walk back to the main building – you can’t take the train back to do that.

Re Al Mourjan – yes, famous last words etc. but the à la carte service is usually very quick to supplement the very decent buffet items. Bear in mind the walks at DOH can be pretty long so you may not have as much time as you think and you will probably want to choose the Al Mourjan (original or Garden) nearest your departure gate.

@Holidayguy we got our dishes served within 10/15 minutes. If you tell them your flight rush they manage. Otherwise the buffet is excellent.

With BA you are unfortunately stuck with BA lounges. As advised T5b then south lounge are better. hope you have a great experience
