UK Amex cards (moving to Spain)

Hi,
I have 2 UK Amex cards. I will move to Spain later this year.
Will Amex UK accept me changing address to a Spanish address, or will they insist I maintain a UK address (which I can do via my parents’ house)?
Also, I plan to apply for a local Spanish Amex card. Does using the Global Transfer service bypass any of the eligibility criteria when applying for the card abroad?

Global Transfer would bypass the need for a local credit check, yes.

There is a risk they don’t let you keep the UK cards though.

If you are not already aware, the Spanish Gold has far fewer benefits than the UK one, and a lower fee. It works for me though.

If you want a referral I’m happy to give one! (I think that’s allowed…)

I personally do think global transfer and referral doesn’t stack up. Spoke to some cs when I do the globaltx and the referral bonus won’t work.

Yep, referrals won’t work with global transfer.
Even signup bonuses didn’t work in the past, but this appears to have been fixed.

We live in Spain and have had Spanish and British Amex cards for most of the last 20 yrs enjoying recycling them endlessly between us until recently when things have become much tougher..

Anyways P2 phoned Amex Plat Spain this week (whilst I was out) to ask if there was any retention offers. I said that I got offered 80k MR last year. They offered her 55K MR and she said no believing they would up their offer but they did not and proceeded to cancel the card over the phone in the next 30 seconds.
