Hi all,
Just hoping to get some clarification on the H4P Companion Voucher Article. The two points below seem contradictory:
-“You cannot turn an existing Avios redemption into a 2-4-1 redemption with half of the Avios returned to you.”
-“If you don’t want to ring the call centre at midnight to book the return you can, if you have enough Avios, book your return seats online using 100% Avios (ie paying for both tickets in full) and then call BA at your convenience to get half of the Avios for the return leg refunded.”
This seems like the approach you really have to take to ensure best chance of availability. (Booking everything outbound/return in full with Avios initially before phoning up to use voucher for a partial refund) However the first point seems to state this isnt possible?
Can anyone confirm & let me know if they’ve tested this? Thanks!
The first point is about having already made a booking, you can’t then call up and have the voucher applied to the booking.
The second point is about booking the return leg of an Avios booking (having booked the outbound earlier, while the inbound was not yet available).
