Has anyone successfully done this and got an upgrade bonus?
Having opened a new Gold Business account recently, I enquired about this just out of curiosity.
Amex CS told me to wait a couple of months (given that it is a new account) and call to see what they can do. An upgrade can happen over the phone and the rep even alluded to potential upgrade offers being available. They were not able to give examples but advised me to call back in a couple of months. It’s all down to whether computer says yes or no.
