I’m trying to book a one-way flight from Tortola (EIS) to JFK next January using Avios. There are options with AA with a connection in Miami and this is 19k AA miles on their website. When I try to book this on the BA website, there are no flights available. Do I need to book this as two separate legs on the BA website to be able to use points? Reluctant to do that as I’d have no comeback if I missed the connection. Any ideas? Thanks
AA only makes the lowest level of awards available to BA.
So if they aren’t showing on BA then they just aren’t available.
And you’re right. on separate tickets you wouldn’t have any protection.
You can’t book connecting AA itineraries with Avios, they’d have to be 2 seperate tickets and priced as such even if you can find the availability. Sometimes cash is the better option.
Also AA are notorious for changes and cancellations so separate tickets on the same day would be a huge risk.
Is there still a ferry to St Thomas – there’s probably more chance of direct flights to JFK from there?
