Using points on a household account

I would like to use my companion 2-4-1 voucher. I have 70k points, my wife has 30k point. Will we be able to combine our points using a household account to purchase a 100k flight?

I have read conflicting messages on how the points are pooled on a household account, some suggest we can, others suggest not.
