Hello Team,
Anyone had any luck using the vigin website to search for partner airlines to fly Upper Class to Bangkok (or Vietnam)?
Looking for some tickets round december – I can book to Paris/Amsterdam on points on AF/KLM, but as soon as I try to go to Bangkok/Ho Chi Minh/Hanoi which these carriers fly to, nothing works and it tells me to call virgin.
ANyone know another way to search?
Many thanks In Advance…
Probably best to ring them up, their website is notoriously bad with online bookings, you have ring them up to redeem a credit card voucher, and even find out the expiry dates !
If you really want to fly UC, then your only real option is probably via Delhi, which of course is still some distance away, you have to arrange an Indian visa (e-visa currently) and find yourself your own flight from there.
I don’t think you can travel via Shanghai yet…
If you’re not travelling imminently, you could hold off and wait until they’re fully part of SkyTeam, then you’ll be able to book with Vietnam Airlines, with the only LHR departing direct options.
Some press reports reckon that VS should be part of SkyTeam by 2nd March, although initially it was meant to be January…
Keep an eye on HfP daily news !
I am not an expert on Virgin nor Delta but I understand they are linked.
The Delta website showed flights and prices from JFK to Ho Chi Min. I didn’t try a dummy booking on points.
When I changed the trip so that it was from LHR to Ho Chi Min, the Delta site could not find any flights.
If you are willing to go that way around, that might be a possibility.
ANA fly to HCMC and are a Virgin partner. Business availability from London is rare though, and you can’t search on the Virgin site for availability.
Vietnam Airlines fly direct and are in SkyTeam … should be bookable “soon” with Virgin.
Bamboo Airways fly direct and are looking to enter a grouping soon!

Well it won’t be SkyTeam! I’ll whoop a little whoop if it’s Star, and a big whoop if I can actually book myself a holiday with them.
