Hey, anyone know without me having to contact them?
Is the year start, your:
– your card application date
– your card activation date
– your statement date
Ie: If my:
card was applied for on 27th September (many moons ago)
and the card was activated on 8th October (many moons ago)
and the statement usually lands on 4th October (monthly)
Is it likely to be any spend after the statement date (or does everyone get statements in the first week of the month)
I got told it was the opening date. However I know exactly when I opened my card because it was our first trip to the US with my son and we got tapped up to sign up for the card in the lounge in Gatwick. It was June. I phoned up this week to find out where my voucher and was told I opened my account in October. This is nonsense, however I wonder if the date was restated – didn’t the cards get transferred to a new legal entity a few years ago with the purchase of Clydesdale bank.
So if you had the account before Oct 2019, the relevant date is likely to be Oct.
Any idea if I can challenge the change of date for the voucher because it means I have to wait another three months for my voucher?
It starts on the date your application was approved, hence account opened. VM also sends out an annual summary of spending/charges. The time period it covers is the “year” to trigger the voucher.
