3 days to kill in city before Cruise: any recommendations for good hotels please. TIA
Can’t reccomend as not been but for our August Celebrity cruise our tour company has put us up at the Georgian Court, its a Best Western.
I have booked Skwachays Lodge Hotel for January – small independent hotel, free breakfast included in all bookings and each room has a different design based on the artistic heritage of the First Nations. Review from The Telegraph below:
What date are you sailing @HM007, we will be at the Hilton before our sailing in September. Not a recommendation, just had enough points to cover it.
We were very happy with the Marriott Pinnacle

It’s convenient for pretty much everything, and minute or so walk from the cruise terminal.

Looks interesting and ethnic though a lot of reviews refer to the area being edgy!

Going in July: IHG points rich but only HInn in town and fancy some luxury
We stayed here not cheap but for us the location being next to cruise terminal was more important.
Hotels in Vancouver are really expensive in June/July when we have our trip planned so we are probably going to cancel. The sort of hotel I would like to stay in are £350+ – even the HI which I don’t want to stay in is over £300!
What is the weather like early May or mid October when room rates are lower? Those who are cruising – do cruises go all the way up to Alaska from there? The only cruise (if you can call it that) is the Hurtigruten up thr Norwegian fjords but Alaska has been on my wish list for another cruise.
We recently spent a few nights at the Shangri La which was wonderful – would really recommend.

I’m there in a few weeks with work and the rates are still extremely high. I’m splitting between Marriott Pinnacle and Sheraton Wall Centre and both feel overpriced for what they are.
Yes Alaska is quite a common cruise destination from there.
We’ve used Fairmont WaterfronT before but yes rates very high atm £344ppn!

Royal Caribbean had their last Alaska cruise on the 29 Sept, have a look at vacationstogo for some great rates if you’re prepared to accept cabin allocation close to the time of sailing. We are quite happy with an inside cabin which releases funds for drinks and dining.
Staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim at the end of May prior to a cruise to Seward. Booked thru Emyr; roughly £500 per night. Hoping for a great stay – will let you know!
