Hi all!
I’ve managed to secure return tickets to Singapore in CW with 2×2-4-1 vouchers over Easter next year – it will be four of us (me, partner and our two kids who will be almost 3 and 6.5 years old by then).
The plan is to spend 7-10 days in Vietnam in the middle bookended by a few days in Singapore to visit friends. If anyone has any recommendations on beach resorts, hotels in the hills or anything else with young kids for Vietnam please do let me know!
Thanks so much in advance for any tips.

My son particularly enjoyed Life’s a Beach in Bai Xep, very basic accommodation in a down-at-heal fishing village, and everyone loved exploring the caves in central Vietnam, again, with very basic accommodation to accompany the experience.
We just had an amazing time in Vietnam, not the sort of holiday you are looking for with children in tow. I can recommend the travel agent we used, who perfectly tailored our holiday to our requirements and was on hand during our stay. We priced all their recommendations individually and they actually saved us money by booking through them rather than booking ourselves. http://www.vietnamstay.com

I’m intrigued as I’ve never known a middleman to be cheaper than DIY.
What places / activities did they book for you?

Although a big fan of booking directly with the individual hotel, there are times when middlemen can still offer much better deals, usually when there is a totally different pricing basis for locals vs foreigners. I have booked a Balkan trip for next month where the agent gets rates under half the published or best OTA rate. Similarly, I’m getting an agent to book five days of our China trip for better prices and to book one hotel that has no website and isn’t listed on any booking site.
In both cases, the agents have previously offered great value, using tip top guides, demonstrated very good organisational skills as well as making excellent choices of accommodation, restaurants etc.

8 different hotels, 4 internal flights, 5 tour guides + drivers, other taxis between locations.
We booked the international flights ourselves.
@hljd – I think your children might enjoy the Water Puppet Theatre. The most well known is in Hanoi but there is also one in HCMC. You need to book in advance.
Right so I’ve no direct experience but I’ve heard rumours of agents catering to their local ethnic communities, presumably to the Indian subcontinent and China / Hong Kong.
I’m guessing this is a variation of that?
Is it all above board though?

My worry was that the company wouldn’t actually exist, but we had friends who went on a similar trip the month before using this agent and they had no problems, which gave me confidence.
I don’t know why it wouldn’t be above board. We had no problems at any location. If there was a booking issue, I would have thought that one of the 8 hotels would have indicated something was amiss.
