Hi everyone,
With the recent BA changes, like many I’m now looking at which Oneworld scheme to credit upcoming flights to get closest to status. I’ve got a DUB-LHR, LHR-DFW, DFW-HEL, HEL-DUB trip booked on Finnair in Business coming up, which is mostly Finnair flights / codeshare apart from the DUB-LHR leg which is BA marketed. I’ll also have an AA domestic flight likely in First within the US.
I’ve spent hours trying to decipher how many tier points I’ll earn if I credit to Finnair or Iberia and end up completely bamboozled by it all! Iberia seems fairly straight forward as it will mostly be distance based earning (on Finnair anyway). But Finnair’s scheme I just find extremely confusing. I tried adding a Finnair Plus number to the booking to see if it would show me avios and tier point earning, but I can’t see it anywhere – is there somewhere you can see this information on Finnair.com that I’m just missing? I have literally spend hours trying to work it all out so far! Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Yes, it really is somewhat confusing. AY DO SHOW THE AVIOS AND TEAR POINTS TO BE EARNED ON THE VARIOUS TICKET CLASSES AT THE TIME OF BOOKING, BUT NOT AS FAR AS I KNOW FROM THAT POINT ON UNTIL THEY ARE CREDITED..
ON AY, YOU WILL EARN THE MULTIPLIER OF TIMES 678 OR NINE DEPENDING ON YOUR CURRENT TEAR OF THE NET TICKET COST IN EUROS THIS IS PRINTED ON YOUR TICKET RECEIPT.
ON IB you will earn a percentage of distance flow according to their reward chart which for basic R or I business is normally 150% of the miles, JC or D will earn more. They do print a table somewhere.
Sorry for the scruffy typing, but I am in quite a hurry. I hope this helps and I also hope it is right.
I found this site when trying to work out the same
Thank you both! Iberia does seem straight forward, it’s Finnair that is nearly impossible to calculate – @SGJNI glad it’s not just me that can’t find it on the booking, but you’d think that information would be available!
@nectar collector – thank you I had found that, however as it’s a Finnair ticket the tier points will be allocated on the cost of the ticket which that calculator unfortunately doesn’t take into account.
I need to sit down and do the sums I think!
