I’ve booked an internal flight in the US (JFK to ORD) using Virgin points. The flight is operated by Delta. At booking it shows checked baggage allowance of 1x 23KG per person.
Delta booking doesn’t include a checked bag and we have been charged $35 each. I’ve double checked the website and created a dummy booking to check and sure enough it comes with 1 piece of checked baggage included.
Has anyone else experienced similar on US domestic reward flights? Or was this just an anomaly with our booking?
I know I’ll need to claim back via Virgin. I’ll contact them when back in the UK.
I’m interested to hear other peoples experience as opposed to advice.
Thought I was imagining this. Booked DL JFK to SFO for Nov using VS miles and could have sworn that baggage was included – then questioned myself when I selected seats on DL website and it stated fees for all bags.
Can’t add anything useful for your predicament but will be interested in knowing how it ends.
