I’m looking to use Virgin Points to fly from London to Ho Chi Minh City with Air France. I was planning to fly in economy (42k points), but upgrading to business class is 224k points both ways, or 133k points from SGN back to LHR (flying economy outbound). My question is: is upgrading to business class worth it in points, especially the round trip?
Thanks!
If you have the points it’s always worth using them for business class over economy IMO
Because of the rerouting because of the mad monk ras-putin, flights are nearly 14 hours to singapore from London (possibly a tiny bit shorter from paris). Having done LHR-SIN return a couple of months ago in Economy and Premium, I’d say that using your points for Business will be WELL WORTH IT 🙂 I flew business with AF from MXP to LHR via CDG and the staff, food and wine were excellent. Would imagine even more so in a bigger aircraft
Well, despite several attempts at booking these flights on Virgin’s website; several web chats with agents, and speaking to an agent on the phone, it turns out that these Air France flights cannot be booked using points (despite showing availability, and the exact number of points required).
The agents had no more luck than I did, and none of them could understand why, or were able to explain to me what the problem was. Hopeless!
