Just completed a VERY lengthy Survey from Virgin where amongst a long series of questions it suggests around 20 different Credit Card scenarios and asks you to choose which you are most likely to apply for if they were offered.
As usual – one question is missing;
Q. “What is stopping you from applying for a Virgin Credit Card?”
1. The devaluation of the flight rewards scheme
2. The devaluation of the flight rewards scheme
3. The devaluation of the flight rewards scheme
4. Prefer not to say, but it has something to do with the devaluation of the flight rewards scheme
Until these Companies are honest with themselves, these Surveys are largely pointless.
Just done it. I added lengthy comments to that effect in one of the other boxes. They’ll be completely ignored by the marketing dept because it’s not what they want to hear… la la la, nobody is listening.
I used to be relatively loyal to both VS and Tesco. Since Tesco destroyed its clubcard scheme and VS removed any kind of common sense in pricing/value from VS points, I’ll shop around even more than I did before. An airline that can change it’s pricing 29 times per day is utterly insane.
I guess they are doing this survey so that when they trash the credit cards they can say they are responding to what their customers wanted!
They seem to ignore the point though that it makes no difference how generous the card is in terms of earning points and vouchers it’s useless if aspirational redemptions are out of reach.
It was a survey about credit cards not points but anyway, I like the fact they asked if you would like a free card that came with 25 tier points for every £2k of spend!
That would be good for me

Hilarious. Thanks for the laugh @paul-uk 🙂

A survey about reward credit cards (ie points) is a little erm pointless if it doesn’t address the no.1 problem with the reward credit card.
Booking virgin redemptions is now an unpleasant experience if you arent sure where or when you want to go. I was fine going pretty much anywhere, so was looking at all routes, by the time youd looked through everything the price of the one you decided went up 30k points. Then went back down 20k the next day, then another 20k the day after, then up 150k, then back down 130k.. its garbage.
It kindof feels like theyre using the old scammy pricing model of increasing the cost if more ppl search for the route.
@slidey They’re averaging over 2400 reward point price changes per day across the route network/calendar according to rewardo.travel
Utter madness.
It’s a very bizarre survey. All of those card permutations you are shown are randomly put together so I’ve no idea how they are meant to compare results, and then they ask you the more obvious questions at the end (‘want this feature?’).
