Says on first purchase. Is it once and once only, once per month or does it work every time?

Also says not on gift card purchases. Can they tell? Not that I can see an option in the app to buy any.

For me it works on the first purchase each time it is offered. I regularly use the Virgin Trains ticketing app, if there isn’t a better offer available (eg, LNER, or Uber 10%).

Got it on virgin, Barclay card, NatWest. Each iteration seems to last 2 weeks. Between my wife and I we have 16 cards, I’m happy to use a debit card for 12% off and no need to buy gift cards

Virgin is my default option but airtime are offering 8% rebate via LNER and Uber has:
500 points for linking to avios
10% rate to Uber credit until end of Feb
