Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

I am looking at some one way reward flights on Qatar and for one person I’m being quoted 80,000 avios + £156, however if I try for 2 people pricing goes to 160,000 + £764. Does any one know why the cash element is more than quadrupling rather than doubling compared to the single?

Someone who can explain will surely be along shortly but meanwhile I’d be booking it quick as 1 seat for each of 2 separate bookings. Do it in 2 separate browsers and make sure both have the same low price with all details including for payment entered before you click both simultaneously. It’s worth a go.

Unlike BA you get access to seat selection in Business immediately and for no extra fee so that’s the second thing I would do so you still sit together if the seats are available together and if you want to..

Is it because there’s only 1 standard reward seat and the other is premium?

Do you have enough points to book 2? Sometime it will use points + cash option if points were short

The flex/premium reward seats are double avios – this is offerering the same avios cost

Thanks Don, this is the answer, I forgot I needed to do a top of my avios before I booked so the 2nd seat was showing a points + cash option that included a points purchase. Once I transferred the points across the price I expected was shown.
