As Hilton are offering a lot of experiences at the One Twenty Club, I thought it deserved its own thread.

We were there yesterday for the Women’s Match England v Portugal. I paid 97,500 Hilton points by auction.

The One Twenty has 420 covers but there were only 80 or so people in last night. So I think it’s probably quite a different experience to say a cup final when it would be full.

The meal did not have five choices per course. It was a set menu with one other option per course for vegetarians. It was very good and we were perfectly happy with what we got but if you didn’t like fish you may have been disappointed.. Champagne was Laurent Perrier Heritage which was excellent. You have your own bottle at the table. The pies were served at full time and were delicious.

The bar area didn’t seem to be in use at all last night.

Staff were very helpful and nice. We enjoyed it – it helped that the lionesses won 6-0, just be aware that the offering at the One Twenty will be somewhat different for events that are not part of the main One Twenty subscription that covers England men’s games and the finals.

I looked at this, but was going with my daughter. We paid 30,000 points for 2x general admission tickets. Expensive in points terms compared to cash price, but I have almost unlimited Hilton points so for me near free.

The question I guess is whether 67,500 points is worth the extra that the One Twenty Club gives. It’s a fair premium, but again will depend on circumstances. Another time, and with an adult companion, I’d probably stump up, but again only because I don’t really equate points to hard cash. And at a different (non Lioness) game the price will be higher.

Helpful of course that the Hilton is right by the stadium. Portuguese team were staying.

I think some people were interested in whether the general admission tickets would be good seats @swissjim.

While I went with an adult friend who could make best use of the champagne on offer, there were quite a few younger fans in the club and there seemed to be a kids meal (which looked from a distance like nuggets and chips). There were a couple of visits from the England mascots who were very happy to pose for photos.

Who knows what actual members pay for these extra fixtures.

On this occasion I was perfectly happy to spend the extra 67,500 for the experience of the club. I can’t see me spending 500,000 points for a fixture but then I don’t have a limitless supply of Hilton points.

@KevinC in terms of the club, I think we’re agreed – it depends on how much you can eat and drink. If one half of the party is a child I can’t see that ever working out (if you want to avoid social services being called…)

General admission. Tickets were £45 & £12.50. So 0.19p/point which is poor value. Cash tickets freely available.

The One Twenty Club has 120 seats and not 420. As the website says ‘It’s called One Twenty for a reason’.

Not sure if you’re including the Bobby Moore restaurant on the lower level?

Rob, you are incorrect on this particular point. The One Twenty Club has 120 members not 120 seats. Each member is not expected to go there on their own. We chatted to a staff member yesterday who told us exactly how many covers they had. And if you look at Verylvke’s review, he mentions there being about 400 seats.

The One Twenty Club is a big room cleverly broken up into different sections.

The Bobby Moore is downstairs and is humungous. It can take 1900 people for dinner and over 3000 standing. Yesterday it looked a bit like the banquet hall at a wedding when everyone had gone home.

If you really want to get the facts and figures on Wembley dining, there’s an interview with Harry Lomas on the Humans Of Hospitality podcast, where he runs through all the venues (Harry is head of culinary at Wembley). Around the 3.30 mark he says that the One Twenty caters for about 450 people.

    I stand corrected! Thanks.

Cheers, Rob. Obviously it’s still a very smart venue, whatever the size.
