Hello, currently do not have a BAPP or a PRG.
I don’t have any spend targets on any cards at present.
I do still have a Platinum charge and a Nectar Amex.
The Nectar gives slightly more Avios when converted, but the Platinum provides other outlets for my MR – though I am unlikely to use any of them with the possible exception of Hilton.
So, is there anything I’ve missed? Otherwise I’ll likely use my Nectar Amex to purchase my next round of longhaul flights.
Thanks.
Whilst the better option may be the Platinum card for the travel benefits, I wouldn’t personally rule out using the Nectar card which is a credit card and has Section 75 protection. It will depend on what exactly you are purchasing (airline tickets, hotel) and the stability/cancellation policy of the travel company you are buying from.
I don’t have Plat, so can’t recall the details of the travel insurance but I’m guessing card used doesn’t invalidate it?

Yeah I wasn’t sure if the travel insurance only applied to purchases made with the Platinum card.
