I’m just exploring options at the moment for a family of 3.
Plan is to use 241 voucher on booking for me and my son, then use my Barclays voucher for my wife on a separate booking.
I’m searching for availability and whenever I use the Barclays voucher, zero availability appears. When I do a search without the voucher, I can see plenty of availability.
This is the case for any route that I try. Anyone had this issue before?
It’s always helpful to give the routes and dates you are looking to book so someone can try and replicate.
But I’m guessing you’re trying to book a flight from the regions i.e. MAN, EDI, NCL?
In which case the Barclays voucher doesn’t work online and you need to call BA to book it.
Yes, booking from EDI/GLA
Didn’t realise this quirk. Thanks for confirming.
Yes, either call BA to book the whole thing, or book the long haul then call and ask them to add the domestic connection. It’s very, very irritating!
Same thing apply for different outbound and return airports?
Trying to book LHR-AMS-LCY with the Barclays Upgrade Voucher. Getting a weird error message ‘Invalid Return Journey.’ on the BA website. Trying to book LHR-AMS-LHR works fine but the available timing of the LCY return flight is preferable.
It’s definitely been reported here that the voucher can’t be used on the EuroFlyer services out of Gatwick. Wouldn’t be that surprising if there was the same restriction on CityFlyer out of LCY. I don’t recall anyone confirming whether a phone call could sort this out. Please report back if you do call to try to book this with a voucher.
Should add that I tried a dummy booking LCY-AMS-LCY and it goes through OK – definitely seems to be a problem associated with mixed outbound departure \ inbound arrival airport.
Article on the voucher on HFP states that the voucher can be used for Cityflyer LCY flights. You are quite correct on Euroflyer ex LGW though.
You can definitely use your barclays voucher with a mix of LCY/LHR arrival/departure but you need to call up to do so (i did this last year for BER flights) as booking online throws up error messages.
