Ramada Hotels and The Independent have relaunched their ‘£20 hotel rooms’ promotion.

This will be the third year that it has run, and it is a decent deal. There are 50,000 rooms on offer across the UK, all priced at £20.

You can book a maximum of 2 consecutive nights per stay. One person can book a maximum of 3 stays during the six month booking period, so a maximum of 3 x 2 night blocks = 6 nights.

Ramada Docklands

There are around 35 Ramada and Ramada Encore properties in the UK, although only 20 are taking part in this offer. I stayed in the Ramada Birmingham City Centre about 3 years ago – it is in The Mailbox development – and it was very acceptable.

The booking page is here.  Unfortunately, the only London hotel included is the one at Gateway Services on the M1!

Here is the small print:

Rooms will be bookable for stays between 6 December and 6 June.

You must book before 17 November, although obviously the sooner the better.

You MUST print off and keep a special voucher, which MUST be handed over at the time of your stay. These vouchers will be downloadable from The Independent website, and will be in the I and Independent newspapers from today.

You are limited to 3 x maximum 2-night stays per person.

I took part in this offer last year – here is my trip report from the Ramada Hotel & Suites London Docklands (photo above).  Sadly, this property is not available this year – a sign that business is picking up in the hotel sector.

Do we know if these would be earning WR points/airline miles?

Yes – “In addition to this superb offer, you can earn points on your stay to start saving towards your first free night through Wyndham Rewards.”

their website is rubbish. I had two separate bookings completed and clicked submit. The site crashed both times and when I retried the dates there was no aavailability

Customer service can be surprisingly good. We had two reservations earlier this year at the Dover property (actually at Whitfield on the A2). This location is good for those headed for Dover ferries and Eurotunnel though I had other reasons for being there.

They had a problem on one of them – parts of the hotel were flooded and they rang to offer us a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express, Canterbury. We declined (dates had become inconvenient) and they refunded the payment. On the other one, we had a problem with the dates. They were happy to rebook.

They enrolled me into Wyndham Rewards but I heard nothing since. Making two bookings today, I was prompted to enteter my WR number or to join. Having had no confirmation, I clicked ‘join’ and later had two messages saying i was already a member and telling me what my number was. Oo er.

Booked night at Luton for night prior to early morning departure. Great for £20!

One thing I am not sure of is whether I will get charged full price as we will have our son in the room (aged 3). Booked a family room, but no option to choose more than 2 occupants. Booking confirmation shows 2 adults 0 children. Will be angry if I get charged!
