News in brief:
£295 Qatar Airways economy sale launched
Qatar Airways – generous sponsors of our current competition – is running a ‘flash sale’ in Economy to desinations in the Middle East.
The prices are very competitive – Dubai from £295, Abu Dhabi from £295, Kuwait from £295, Bahrain from £300, Muscat from £305.
These fares are only available from London because there is a separate broader offer currently running on flights from Manchester and Edinburgh. At the time of writing, a Monday to Sunday flight to Dubai over February half-term was coming up at £315 per person.
You need to book by 23rd January for travel by 31st March. The Qatar website is here although the home page is currently promoting the broader sale.
A lesson to learn from Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 4
I will be writing more about this hotel in the next couple of weeks as I have a stay coming up. However, here is an odd fact I discovered whilst booking.
If you book a reward room for one person, the hotel will only offer you a room with a single bed for the standard redemption price. The rooms with queen beds are not available.
However, if you book a reward room for 2 people, the queen room is offered at the standard redemption price.
Here is the pricing for March 9th:
Search for 1 person – single bedded room = 60,000 points, queen bedded room = not available
Search for 2 people – queen bedded room = 60,000 points
Odd ….
48-hour Hotels.com flash sale launched
Finally, Hotels.com emailed me last night about a 48-hour flash sale which is running on Wednesday and Thursday. It is valid for stays until March 8th.
They are promising discounts of ‘up to’ 50% although 20% seems more like it looking at the preview. If you are booking hotels at the moment, though, it is worth a look – the link is here.
