TODAY: Win a return luxury London airport transfer with REAL Transfers

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Thanks to luxury transfer company REAL Transfers, we are running a special giveaway today.

Between now and midnight, you can win a return Mercedes E-Class transfer from anywhere inside the M25 to Heathrow or Gatwick.

The car can carry up to three people and up to three pieces of luggage.

Real Transfers

We’ve run a few competitions with REAL over recent years and they were all very popular.  We first worked with them when the company was getting started and it has been good to watch them grow as we have grown ourselves.  REAL also provided one of our raffle prizes at last year’s HfP Christmas party and we can hopefully get them involved again this year.

The timing of this competition is hopefully right for anyone planning a Christmas getaway from Heathrow or Gatwick.

If you don’t win, you’ll find out how to get a discount code for a REAL booking at the bottom of this article.

About REAL Transfers

2017 has been a hugely successful year for REAL Transfers. As well as demonstrating strong year on year growth, REAL has also become the preferred ground transportation provider to a number of major corporate, agent and travel providers whilst maintaining its commitment to high standards.

REAL recently won recognition for its work and was highly commended as a ‘Best Business for Customer Service’. With so much recent bad press about the taxi and ground transportation industry REAL is honoured to be at the forefront of helping improve this image and drive up standards.

As one of London’s premier taxi and luxury car transfer providers REAL is proud of its reputation for delivering high quality service and great value for money.

REAL is a leading airport car provider specialising in Heathrow and Gatwick airport transfers, as well as taxis and luxury cars to or from London City, Stansted and Luton airports. They also offer private car and luxury taxi transfers to the Southampton, Dover, Tilbury and Portsmouth Cruise Terminals.

REAL is also leading the way in car transfers to and from the UK’s major sporting and entertainment events. REAL continues to support some of the UK’s foremost sports and entertainment agencies to manage over a hundred individual transfers to and from events for sports stars, movie stars and VIP guests, notably working with Formula One World again to support them during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

In addition, REAL provide a wide range of ground transportation solutions, including ‘As Directed’ services, luxury wedding cars and transport to destinations across the UK.

How to enter

The competition will run for just 18 hours and closes at midnight tonight. We will draw a winner tomorrow morning and pass on their details to REAL Transfers.

You must be a UK resident to enter. Logically, you want to live or work inside the M25 as the prize is a return transfer from anywhere inside the M25 to either Heathrow or Gatwick.

We are using the same automated entry software that we used for other recent competitions.  You are allowed one entry per person and all you need to do is complete your email address in the form below.

Your details remain private – they will not be shared with REAL Transfers and will not be used by Head for Points for any other purpose.

The rules

You can see the detailed rules by clicking on ‘Terms and Conditions’ in the entry widget. In summary:

You must be at least 18 years old

You must be a resident of the UK and have a UK postal address.  If you are currently outside the UK you will not be able to enter – you will need to email the link to a friend who is in the country.

Entries are limited to one per household

The competition closes at midnight, London time, on Wednesday 15th November

If you cannot see the entry widget below, please click here and you will be directed to a special website to enter.

Good luck! The winner will be notified within 48 hours of the competition closing.

Save money on your next REAL Transfers booking

If you don’t win you might be interested in one of REAL’s current promotions for a discount on your next booking.

How to get FREE car rental status and other benefits via UK credit cards

How to get FREE car rental status and other benefits via UK credit cards (April 2025)

If you hire a car in the UK, you can get special benefits (discounts, upgrades, free additional drivers etc) if you have elite status with a car rental programme. You can get elite status for free via certain American Express cards.

The Platinum Card and American Express Business Platinum

The Platinum Card from American Express and American Express Business Platinum come with two free car hire status cards. Your supplementary Platinum cardholder can also receive status in their own right.

From Avis, you receive President’s Club status in Avis Preferred. This gets you up to 25% off standard rates, a free additional driver and a guaranteed one class upgrade. For weekend rentals you will receive a two class upgrade, subject to availability.

From Hertz, you receive ‘Five Star’ status in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards. This gets you up to 15% off standard rates, a free additional driver and a one class upgrade, subject to availability.

Hertz also offers Platinum cardholders a 4 hour grace period on rentals. Your final day is treated as 28 hours, so a 1pm pick up with a 5pm return the following day is only charged as one day, not two days. We wrote about the Hertz / Platinum 4 hour grace period here.

The Platinum Card also comes with full car hire insurance with no obligation to pay for the rental via American Express. You can refuse any attempts to sell you additional insurance at pick up. This benefit has substantial value if you rent on a regular basis.

You can find more details on the two Platinum cards, and apply, in our full reviews linked below. You can apply here for the personal card and here for the business card.

There are two car rental benefits:

Will the prize work for people visiting London? i.e. pick-up at Heathrow/ Gatwick and drop off in London, then a return to airport?

Not everyone lives and works in that fancy London but sometimes we do visit to see how awful it is… 😉

  • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

FYI – article says one entry per person, T&Cs say one entry per household.

    Rob says:
    Yes, don’t see why not.

Unless, of course, one happens to be one of the _millions_ of people visiting London every year who are not UK residents. 🙁

    • Rob says:

I think, if you can get the widget to load, we can overlook that one …. we’re not exactly giving away thousands of pounds of flights here.

  • Stephen says:

I find these ‘inside the M25’ rules infuriatingly arbitrary, and clearly not based on cost. We live a short 20-30 minute drive from Heathrow, but it is is just on the wrong side of the Great Concrete Ribbon. Transfers from here to Heathrow will be so much quicker and cheaper to operate than for someone over on the Far East side of London, and yet we get penalised.

  • Roberto says:

I have never heard of these guys but have booked a car from LHR to LGW in a couple of weeks on the strength of this article. I normally use Addison Lee but they wanted £110 and even with the £10 Amex saving its about £35 more than these guys quoted. I will report back post trip with an update.

Can’t believe nobody’s dropped the last 3 characters of post code gag yet…
