Virgin Atlantic has filed some excellent Upper Class fares from Amsterdam to North America.
These are valid for travel from late July / early August up to 3rd September and between 17th and 31st December. Connections from Amsterdam are on Flybe or British Airways.
Typical deals include:
- Amsterdam to New York (via London / Manchester) €1,291
- Amsterdam to Boston (via London / Manchester) €1,276
- Amsterdam to Washington (via London) €1,222
- Amsterdam to Seattle (via London) €1,374
- Amsterdam to Los Angeles (via London) €1,491
You can learn more about Virgin Upper Class on this page of their website. New York and Boston via Manchester can be booked via the Virgin booking page here but the other routes via London require you to use Expedia.
If you don’t have a credit card with 0% foreign exchange fees, your best bet for maximising your miles when paying is one of the two Virgin Atlantic Reward credit cards. These earn double miles (3 per £1 on the paid card or 1.5 per £1 on the free card) when you book at virginatlantic.com or via Virgin Holidays.
Another option is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold which offers triple points – 3 per £1 – when you book flight tickets in a foreign currency, because it triggers both the ‘double points for airline spend’ and the ‘double points for foreign spend’ bonuses.
