Tomorrow, Saturday 14th July, Louis Vuitton is opening a pop-up store in Heathrow Terminal 4.

The chain says:

“The pop-up concept is inspired by the ‘My LV World Tour’ collection that pays homage to Gaston Louis Vuitton’s private collection of destination stickers and symbolises the art of travelling and exploration.

The new space features a selection of men’s and women’s signature leather goods and accessories, inviting Heathrow travellers to discover the world of Louis Vuitton for the first time in Terminal 4.”

Was there yesterday, very nice set up for a refreshment and bit of down time.

    • Robman says:

Hi Will, I brought the Hilton Honours auction offer to Goodwood for Sunday. Our first time. Can you tell me if the stand is somewhere where you would consider staying the whole day and watching events unfold, or do you have to walk around the complex and only come back to the stand for refreshments? Do they serve unlimited champagne or are you limited to one each?? All important questions lol.

      • Nick says:

Hi Robman, we had the Friday package and have just returned from there, having spent the morning. If you can download the Goodwood FOS app. it will make things pretty clear, but the viewing platform is right next to track crossing point no. 6. If you’re using the public car parking, car park M is nearest. You walk through the entrance gate and you can’t miss the Waldorf-Astoria viewing platform as it’s right in front of you. You could probably stay for the whole day, but there’s a lot more to see. It wasn’t too busy this morning, but I would expect that Sunday would be significantly busier and they may have some restrictions on timings as to when you could enter. Champagne is available and you could have more than one glass, but I woildn’t expect it to be “flowing”. Plenty of water, juices, etc. too.

        • Robman says:

Thanks for helpful response and good advice Nick. I’m sure we’ll have a great time wandering around and coming back to the stand to have a rest and enjoy some refreshments.

      • Mikeact says:

If you get my neighbours daughter to serve you…..no problem with the Champagne!

    • Will says:

You won’t get offered a refill but a request for another was fine when we were there. It’s got a decent view of the action and it’s a pleasant place to spend a while.

If you’ve got a jag or Land Rover the JLR stand hospitality for owners was also a nice place to chill out for a while, complimentary soft drinks/tea coffee and snacks. You just turn up and show key. Lots of the manufacturers do it.

    Hi Rob,

Just to confirm to your readers, you only earn an extra 10 Tier Points each way flying to CPT via JNB rather than going direct. CPT direct earns 240TPs, whereas JNB is 210. For me, the biggest draws of going via JNB are the fact that you can use the Concorde Room in T5 (the CPT flight leaves from T3) and you will most probably be on an A380 (which in my opinion is far superior to the 747 on the direct route).

    • Rob says:

      Noted, will amend.

      • Andrew says:

I have just booked this also – another 2 tickets heading to a H$P reader. I have booked with Car hire but may not need a car – is there a problem if I am just a no show as the reduction for including the care was circa £200. I am within the 24hr cooling off period so could change to book without this if needed. Thanks

  • Keith says:

Here’s another 2 H4P readers that booked it!

I had got advance notice of the sale from one of the US FF websites and taken a hold on 2 flights. Seeing Robs post the next morning that showed it was cheaper to include a car and we were going to book a car anyway.

We booked the car deal for £500 less and ‘swallowed’ the £20 penalty for cancelling the original booking!
As it’s via BA holidays then so far I’ve only paid a deposit of £400.
We will get 42,134 Avios each for the flight.
    Thank you Rob.

  • Andy says:

    Hi Rob,

We booked the direct flights to CPT on the 747 First Class and purposely chose the return route via JNB to get the A380 flight back to T5. Paid £4,100 for February flights. Great deal

  • David says:

Booked earlier this week for January.

Direct flights to save the joys of changing in JNB and the additional journey time.

Yes, will miss the CCR but as a CCR card holder, I use it quite often.

Have not yet been on a BA A380 so that was a small consideration but direct flights are good.

  • Helen says:

We booked last week too, direct to/from CPT for my ‘special’ birthday in January. We were looking for somewhere warm to go so CPT is just right & FC too with a car makes it even better!

Total of £3747 after adding a car too as suggested by you – thanks great tip & crazy that the price actually reduced by £300!!!

  • Roger says:

Is Nectar still go to option for emptying residual MR points from Amex?

    • the real harry1 says:

Yes. BTW – Nectar collectors – 8x points offer on Ebay purchase £5+, for 24 hrs starting midday today – activate offer first in your Nectar a/c.

    • Rob says:

      Yes

    • john says:

Yes. There is a minimum transfer of 500 points apparently. The guy on the phone added the extra 50 or so points I need to my MR account so that they could be transferred!

      • Genghis says:

        There shouldn’t be a min?

      • RussellH says:

Yes, I transferred just my last one MR point to Nectar last January. I think I was stuck with 10 points, so 9 went to Club Carlsson (as it was then), leaving one for Nectar.

  • Chris says:

Having done this both routes I actually prefer to change in JoBurg. That way you fly a nice new a380 rather than an incredibly old boeing
