The strike by Heathrow airport staff due today was called off at the last minute on Sunday evening.  There may still be some disruption today, however, as many flights had been cancelled or moved to Gatwick before the announcement was made.

The UNITE union has agreed to continue talks at ACAS today.  There is no guarantee that the strike on Tuesday will be called off.

If it does go ahead we can expect a number of British Airways short-haul cancellations and the move of some flights from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5.

It is important to note that all inbound flights should operate regardless on Tuesday.  British Airways intends to fly any cancelled services out, empty, in order to ensure that all passengers who are due to fly back on Tuesday can do so.
