Long in the tooth HfP readers may remember when British Airways was lead sponsor of the annual Taste of London food festival.
BA would operate its own ‘lounge’ for elite members of the Executive Club, where you would find free-flowing (and free) champagne and food all day. It was an excellent albeit inebriating day out.
This year, Accor Live Limitless has popped up as a lead sponsor.
Accor has invited chefs from some of its top London hotels to create meals in a pop-up restaurant which it is running onsite.
Tables for these pop-up meals are now bookable with Accor points via this page of the Accor Experiences website.
There are some EXCELLENT deals here, but it isn’t clear how excellent because Accor has messed up the pricing. The price shown in the T&Cs for most lots is not the price shown in big numbers at the top of the page. The Fairmont Windsor Park meal, for example, is 5,000 points for two people according to the rules but 3,000 points (with no mention of the number of people) at check-out.
Depending on which bit of pricing is correct and which chef you choose to visit, you will pay between 2,000 and 5,000 Accor points for:
- a set menu meal for two people, with wine pairings, in a private dining room at Taste of London
- tickets for fast track entry into Taste of London
- a goody bag
Given that 2,000 Accor points is usually worth €40 off a hotel stay or 2,000 Avios, this is clearly excellent value. Events run from 7th to 18th July.
