A new prime minister and a new monarch – what a momentous week. The Queen was a remarkable lady.

  • Jordan D says:

A touching tribute. May she Rest in Peace.

    God Save The King!

  • QFFlyer says:

Great tribute Rob et al. RIP QEII.

  • BlueThroughCrimp says:

Very much the end of an era.
Very sad for her family, and a loss to the country.

  • Nick says:

A very fitting tribute to Her Majesty from yourself & the HfP team Rob, thank you!

  • Kavajo says:

How about renaming Heathrow to Queen Elizabeth airport as a tribute and memorial?

    • John says:

T2 is already called “The Queen’s Terminal”.

I think enough hospitals and roads and train lines and ships and bridges are named after her.

    • Londonsteve says:

I think that’s an excellent idea that’ll really fly with the public, if you excuse the pun. Seriously, there’s nothing quite like renaming a country’s no.1 airport in honour of a seminal figure in any country’s history.

  • B says:

A sad day indeed. Thanks to HFP for the tribute. One has to feel for (or laugh at) Truss that her momentous week, and new energy price freeze has been so completely and utterly overshadowed.

    • John says:

I like to think that she hung on to life to see Johnson properly gone. Imagine what he might have done if it happened a few days earlier.

I guess you’re not in a position where an extra £1000 / year (for the average household) on energy bills is the difference between staying warm and staying fed.

  • Mike Hunt says:

Rob – thank you for the tribute. Also It brings me great personal solace at this very sad time to be able to grieve alongside and with the HFP community. We will all have our own personal treasured memories of the late Queen and our own personal hopes for the new King at this challenging time but we are unified in our sadness, grief, respect and mourning.

    • Panda Mick says:

It’s such a shame you can’t like comments… Well said Mike. In a country more divided than ever, it’s a shame that her death has brought us together, but not surprising, given the person that she was. RIP QEII
