  It is good, have used in the past, but only in main terminal A/B for now, not yet in C (BA). Fine for VS flights though.

    I agree and I’m picking up a sunpass pro next time $14.95+tax according to the FAQ page, but if you’re leaving from MCO you’ll hit tolls before you get to a place to buy one so the visitor pass makes sense for people who may only go once.

    I emailed them to ask if they were going to put collection/drop off facilities in tC but got no response.

    For me, I’ll use the SP in plenty more states, especially after I tried faffing with Illinois’ pay by plate system last month Whoever designed that should have their bits cut off.

      Top tip is if you (on BA) tell rental angencies no flight, they will assume terminal A, so just use transit to A to pickup car and rental toll pass and do same on return!

      It does add some time but the visitor toll pass we’ve used for last 4 visits to Orlando and it’s a good service (and has no cost other than the tolls as long as you don’ t forget to post the toll pass back via the postboxes in the tunnel from rental to terminal (notes use tunnel NOT the surface level for easiest return)).

      Looking on the comments on here and alternative research, I will opt for the Visitor toll pass as i will be using only once! Flying into MCO Terminal C but will go to Terminal A as the toll pass machine is outside the rental offices. The VTP Covers for toll roads from MCO to rental property….

      Also if you’re in a hurry and don’t bother posting the VTP you get a $10 charge, So not the end of the world. I’d rather spend the time it would take to train from Terminal C to Terminal A and back again in the lounge.

    Terminal C MCO is shockingly bad …. but its easy enough to get the train to Terminals A and B (they are joined) …. and you could also pick up your car from one of these terminals too …. (Avis for example are usually not that bothered about which location you choose ) ….

    I think I said $25 because you need to initially load at least $10 to the account – and I would also suggest actually signing up for an account before you get to the states – you dont need anything to get the account setup initially – you may have to use a US address – dont worry as you can use an international address for your card – just your mailing address has to be US – use a hotel if needed….

  Hardly essential. Saves you $30 max if you’re with alamo. Loads of reports of it not picking up some tolls and then you get hit with your suppliers toll rates for your whole rental, which isn’t good if you’re with certain ones. My recent 3 week trip it would’ve saved me $15. Paid cash on a couple of tolls, drove through 3 cashless lanes. Not something I can be bothered faffing about with on arrival with my family.

    might only be $30 if you’re with alamo but they all vary. Sixt charge you $10/day

    Also the rental car companies re-charge the max toll rate so ripping you off, not the toll pass discounted rates.

      Indeed. Thats the rip off, 2 weeks rental with hertz would be ~ $120 plus tolls from past experience. Since toll pass thing existed, it’s cost of tolls only, and it’s never failed (for us at least).

      Basically use visitor toll pass and save on expensive rental agency fees.

  On the toll point, the car company I use includes the tolls and charged back to me when car is handed back at the end of the trip

    Yeah, they all do this but in small print charge max toll rate. Lesson learnt from being stolen from by Alamo and Hertz in past! Typical MCO trip including a trip to kennedy/space coast is $10 in tolls max. Same trip year prior on Alamo they billed $120 + 30 in tolls. So yes, they bill you after trip, but at an extortionate rate.

  On reward flights, from LHR I have worked out that Virgin release flights then if I am not mistaken release further seats 6 weeks later. As in 9 reward in all cabins. I have been able to me and family UC there and back in Feb

  Just discussing visiting USA with some colleagues. 5 of us agree that travel to the USA is a thing of the past unless and until the is a major shift in exchange rates. Everyone of us there in last 12 months and everyone felt prices were extortionate
