If you are a regular user of Gatwick airport, Sunday 29th October is your last day to provide feedback to the Planning Inspectorate on the Northern Runway project.
This is the scheme which would see the existing taxiway converted into a full runway, which primarily requires it to be moved 12 metres to the north to create the required gap from the main runway.
Whilst a Heathrow third runway involves demolishing a couple of villages (seriously) plus most of the hotels on Bath Road and the BA HQ building, plus tunnelling the M25 motorway (yes, seriously), Gatwick simply wants to move its existing taxiway inside the existing airport boundary.
The Planning Inspectorate feedback form is here.
Whilst we didn’t cover it, Luton’s expansion plans were approved last week, and Stansted is also moving forward with its terminal expansion.
