Marriott Bonvoy has released a new batch of tickets for its box at The O2 arena in London.

If you’ve never been, this is a great way to see a concert – or at least it is about as good as you can get in the aircraft hangar that is The O2.

I finally got to visit the new suite – it moved during the pandemic – for an Elton John concert last year along with some HfP readers, and I can confirm that you are now nearer the stage than you were. The drinks and ‘comfort food’ hot buffet were also good.

The real value of the suite is the ability to wander in and out at will. Dull song comes along? There is no problem nipping out to the loo or crashing out on a sofa to check your emails!

Here are the new concerts you can book as a ‘buy it now’ redemption:

  • Jo Koy, 3rd May – 50,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Peter Kay, 4th May – 50,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Keane, 10th May – 40,000 Bonvoy points for two

These concerts are being auctioned and the price given is the starting bid:

  • Olivia Rodrigo, 15th & 17th & 18th May – 75,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • BetMGM Premier Darts, 23rd May – 50,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Romesh Ranganathan, 24th May – 50,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Nicki Minaj, 28th May – 75,000 Bonvoy points for two

There is also an Olivia Rodrigo package available for auction which includes a two night hotel stay.

You can redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points on this page of the Marriott site.

We used to have a saying: “I’d rather be at Oxford than St John’s.” At over £900/night for a Marriott, i think I’d reconsider that ideology and fly to Newfoundland.

    • Chas says:

      I know that chant well….!

    • TGLoyalty says:

It’s never worth £900 .. best guess is they were fully booked and price was set high for the last few over books so they’d walk someone else.

Anyway it’s not 4.5p of value because no one would be daft enough to pay £900 for it. £200 perhaps if they really had no other choice.

      • BBbetter says:

If it was fully booked, would redemption rooms be available?

        • Rob says:

There is a fixed redemption allocation. There will be a couple of rooms left and it just turns out that the redemption allocation hasn’t been used so they must be made bookable.

A reader dropped me a note in sadness at the loss of Marriott Twickenham recently. Apparently it always jacked up rates to £500 on match weekends but he was always able to get a redemption for 15,000 points because the hotel was forced to make a few available.

Only a little off topic as we are talking about Bonvoy points – has anyone got any suggestions for how to get 200 Bonvoy points in the next week any cheaper than buying (no Amex from which to transfer)?

    • TGLoyalty says:

If you know someone with 200 they can send them to you takes a few mins via an online form.

  • Matt says:

Hello – has anyone been to a Marriott bonvoy box recently as the last two times I have been, there has been no hot buffet only take away burgers and pizza?
The poor food definitely detracted from an amazing box!

    • Nick says:

Matt, thankfully I can’t say I’ve ever seen that at the O2, but I have heard similar comments about last year.

Anyway, I was there last week for the Simple Minds gig, and the food was OK, with a couple of hot choices, including veggie, some cheese, and some nice deserts too.

      • Nick says:

PS. I should have said three hot choices (Chicken & lamb), including a veggie!

        • Matt says:

Good man, thanks for the feedback and good to see that they have brought that buffet back!
The hamburgers were very average and they were even struggling to find some ketchup!
