United Airlines launches Wrexham FC-branded amenity kits

We’re used to seeing tie-ups with major brands for airline amenity kits, whether it be The White Company for British Airways or Armani / Bulgari / Acqua di Parma etc for the Middle Eastern and Asian carriers.

United Airlines has gone one step further, however, with a new limited-edition Wrexham AFC amenity kit and matching pyjamas.

United Airlines Wrexham pyjamas

This is to celebrate Wrexham’s recent promotion to League One and United’s ongoing shirt sponsorship of the team.

The amenity kits, filled with Therabody products, will roll out from 1st June in business class. Passengers in Premium Plus will receive a reusable zipped amenity pouch. The pyjamas will available to business class passengers on flights of 14+ hours – which admittedly is a small number!

I like the idea of football-related airline pyjamas. I gave my son a Qatar Airways World Cup-themed set after my last trip and he is still keen on them. What your average United Airlines passenger makes of a Wrexham-branded amenity kit is a different question.

How to earn Star Alliance miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Star Alliance miles from UK credit cards (April 2025)

None of the Star Alliance airlines currently have a UK credit card.

There is, however, still a way to earn Star Alliance miles from a UK credit card

The route is via Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott Bonvoy hotel loyalty points convert to over 40 airlines at the rate of 3:1.

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points is via the official Marriott Bonvoy American Express card. It comes with 20,000 points for signing up and 2 points for every £1 you spend. At 2 Bonvoy points per £1, you are earning (at 3:1) 0.66 airline miles per £1 spent on the card.

There is a preferential conversion rate to United Airlines – which is a Star Alliance member – of 2 : 1 if you convert 60,000 Bonvoy points at once.

The Star Alliance members which are Marriott Bonvoy transfer partners are: Aegean, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Avianca, Copa Airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.

Spot on with that suggestion Paul

Funny how united are on the Wrexham bandwagon, but don’t serve Manchester.

  • Throwawayname says:

Horribly tacky pyjamas celebrating a promotion to the third division. I’d probably take them to sell on eBay though.

  • Andy says:

Why on earth would United want to be associated with easily the second most unpopular entity in the football league (after Franchise FC)? No-one with the slightest interest in football thinks what is happening there is a good thing for the game – and it will all end in tears before long.

As with everything Money! I assume United are paying nout for the kits as its a paid promotion by Disney – United are the official airline of Disney as well.
