Get a discount of up to 10% on Etihad flights with your American Express card

Etihad is currently offering a 10% discount code for American Express cardholders.
This is a long-term offer which is valid for travel completed by 31st December 2024. You can book as late as you like, so in theory the code will still be working on 30th December for anyone who needs to make last minute dash somewhere for New Year!
If you are based in the UK, you can fly from Manchester or Heathrow. The discount is valid in any class, including First Class.

How do I get my Amex saving on Etihad?
To trigger your Etihad discount as an American Express cardholder, you need to go to this special page on the Etihad website.
You need to enter the first four digits of an American Express card, for example 3791, to be taken to the dedicated booking page. There is no specific Etihad discount code to add.
How much do you actually save?
Note that the discount only applies to the base fare, not taxes, and so will have a very small overall impact on Economy tickets. Business fares are better.
Here is screenshot as an example:
As you can see, the actual discount is not 10%. It’s nearer 5% in Economy and 7% in Business. Still better than nothing though!
Flights to the UAE attract a smaller discount which is capped at 5% and in reality will be lower due to the adjustment for taxes.
What are the T&C’s of the Etihad / American Express discount?
Here is the small print. In general, there is nothing here that should trouble you except – potentially – for the restriction on multicity flights.
Note that there is no additional discount on child or infant fares on top of the standard discount given on those ticket types.
- Offer is valid on one-way and return Etihad-operated flights only.
- Offer does not apply to multicity destinations or stopovers, or flights operated by partner airlines.
- American Express Card Members receive 5% off flights to and from UAE, and 10% off flights to or from all other destinations on the Etihad airways network.
- Card Members must book and travel by 31 December 2024.
- Payment must be made with an American Express Card and bookings must be made on etihad.com/amexoffer.
- Flights and fare types are subject to availability at the time of booking.
- Flights eligible for the discount are clearly signalled by a ‘Offer’ tag next to them. Please ensure only flights eligible for the discount are selected when booking.
- Discount only applies to the base fare and not on taxes or additional charges.
- Discount is valid on all Economy Value, Choice, Choice Plus, Business Value, Choice, Choice Plus and First fares.
- Discount available is up to 10% – discount provided may vary across different flight routes and full discount of 10% may not be available across all flights.
- From time to time, Economy fares categorised as Economy Sale may be available for sale – discount will not apply to these Economy Sale, but they will be bookable through etihad.com/amexoffer.
- Changes and cancellations are subject to charges and fees as per published fare rules.
- All changes must be made with Etihad Airways via etihad.com or Etihad Airways call centres.
- Etihad Airways are the promoter and solely responsible for the fulfilment of the offer
