The Park Grand London Kensington hotel joins Marriott Bonvoy

A new unbranded hotel has popped up on marriott.com – the Park Grand London Kensington.
The website is here.
Park Grand is a small sub-brand inside the (still relatively small) Montcalm hotel group. Park Grand London Kensington has disappeared from the Montcalm website so it looks as if the hotel will soon get a name change.
EDIT, November 2024: Reviews of this hotel, still awaiting refurbishment, are truly shocking. Book with caution.

The 132-room hotel was sold to KKR and Amante Capital in May. The plan is that the hotel will undergo an ‘extensive refurbishment to be repositioned as a boutique lifestyle hotel’ which will be part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio brand. Amante Capital will operate the property.
In terms of location, it is on Hogarth Road, just south of Cromwell Road. It is between London Marriott Hotel Kensington and IHG’s Hotel Indigo London Kensington, with Earls Court being the nearest tube station.
I can’t find a copyright-free image of the exterior to bring you, but imagine a 1970s building – probably on a WW2 bomb site – in the middle of a line of Georgian houses. It’s not a beauty.
Tribute Portfolio, if you’re not familiar with it, is the four star version of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. It allows independent hotels of quality to become part of the Marriott ‘system’ without having to adhere to strict brand standards. You can earn and spend Marriott Bonvoy points, and receive your Bonvoy elite status benefits, as usual.
The hotel is already bookable on marriott.com – click here – although the hotel is not yet branded as ‘Tribute’ and has not yet been refurbished.
