Excellent 2-4-1 First and business class flights deals from the UK with Lufthansa and SWISS

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

If you thought we’d never see the return of pre-Covid sub-£1,000 long haul business class flight deals, think again.

SWISS and Lufthansa have launched an astonishing 2-4-1 sale from the UK and some other European countries.

We have fares in business class as low as £694 return to Dubai (from London) and £864 return to Seoul (from Stockholm).

You can find out more, and book, on this page of the Lufthansa website.

SWISS and Lufthansa 2-4-1 business class flight deals

Here, partly courtesy of Luxury Flight Club, are the best of the deals, starting with London departures. It is important to note these are only example deals – the booking page says that other destinations are also discounted.

Here are the rules:

  • you need to book for two or more people
  • you can travel until 30th June 2025 (best availability is September and March-June)
  • you must book by 3rd September 2024
  • it seems that a six night stay is required, with a 14 day maximum

IMPORTANT: Whilst the website says you can book for two people, you can book for 3, 4 or however many you want – although you will struggle to find flights with a lot of seats at these prices.

These flights are very much bookable

You can get seats at these prices. To make it easier, the booking page shows (when you start to select a date) a calendar showing when you can get this price. The price is shows is NOT per person, it is for the group – be aware! It won’t look as low as the headline per person price.

Here is Dubai DURING OCTOBER HALF TERM (if your kids get two weeks off) for £694 per person:

Here are two people to Seoul from Stockholm at SEK 23,000 (£1,729, so £864 each):

Where can I credit my flights?

SWISS and Lufthansa are both part of Lufthansa’s Miles & More loyalty scheme.

Because Miles & More is revenue based (your earnings are based on the price of your flight), you won’t do very well given how cheap these tickets are.  Think about a different Star Alliance programme.

The Lufthansa business class fares usually book into P class.  This page of wheretocredit.com shows what you can do with that – ‘not much’ is unfortunately the answer.

This HfP article looks at which is the best Star Alliance frequent flyer programme for you.

How should I pay?

If you are booking in £, or you don’t have a credit card with 0% foreign exchange fees, your best option for paying if you book direct is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold.

This offers triple points – 3 per £1 – when you book flight tickets in a foreign currency.  This is because the transaction triggers the ‘double points for airline spend’ and the ‘double points for foreign spend’ bonuses.  Our review of Amex Gold is here.

Conclusion

It’s fantastic to see these crazy SWISS and Lufthansa 2-4-1 deals return.

Don’t wait if you see something you want. If you are reading this via email on Wednesday morning then the best options will have gone – don’t even think about waiting until nearer the nominal 3rd September end date for these deals.

You can book on this special page of the Lufthansa website.

Any solo travellers need to pair up?

  • ZW says:

“ save up to 50% in First Class, 40% in Business Class, and 30% in Premium Eco” wishing they are doing this for solo travellers too…

sales must be so bleak to run a promotion like this in August.

    • Weereenfluff says:

Lufthansa recently, in the past few months, have increased their fares considerably so perhaps customers chose not to book or have gone elsewhere – even though their prices were still competitive.
An example of the recent increases:-
Gla > Bengaluru Business was £1.6k – it increased to almost £2k.
In addition, you previously had the option to travel 1st Class on the outward leg and Business return for £2.2k – however that increased to £3.5k.
So this is a great offer for customers who delayed booking because of their price hike – thanks Lufthansa.

  • R says:

It may be me doing something wrong but even using the official page I get the full price for 2 people …

    • Rob says:

Some routes seem very low on availability – I couldn’t get the £800 Singapore fare to show up for example. Others seem very open. Obviously wanting more than 2 seats will really restrict what you see.

      • DavidOD says:

Oslo/Stockholm to Hong Kong return leg in business went quickly last night.

Ended up having to book to Beijing, which seemed to be plenty of fares.

Was already planning a trip to China, was going to book flights with BA in PE , so this was perfect timing.

    • RV says:

      Same here…

      • Rob says:

The website actually shows you which dates have the lowest fare when you go to book.

Take LHR-DXB. As you try to input a date the calendar pops up and you can see which dates are £1430. This is the price for TWO.

Book on those dates and you see the individual price as you select tickets.

As an example try Dubai 11-25 September. Works fine. In fact, for those dates, it comes in lower than £1430 – £1368 to be precise, for two.

If you don’t see it – have you selected Business? Have you selected 2 passengers? If you have selected 3+ passengers, your options drop considerably.

    • Weereenfluff says:

You need time and patience – and to be open with you dates and possibly destinations – and remember that sometimes it may be cheaper to book a Higher Class so try all combinations.
On Lufthansa site you sometimes can switch from Business to 1st on the same screen – and surprisingly 1st will be cheaper or the same price.
Also, when searching it can be obvious as you scroll through the dates as the prices of the 241 are so low – other times its not so clear, but patience searching could pay off.
I’ve found/booked 2 flights on the Lufthansa site.
One 1st Class from Manchester to Buenos Aires (Swiss air) at New Year for 2 weeks, under £4k – now up to £15.5k, which is same as prices round about.
The other is Business class Gla > Hyderabad (Lufthansa) for £2.4k – normal price approx £4k. Going Sept return Dec – so offer not only applies for trips of up to 2 weeks. We intended to start our trip in Mumbai but changed as never been to Hyderabad before and no Mumbai offers.
They also had Gla > Delhi 1st Class with Lufthansa for £4.3k – which is similar to what you’d pay fir a business class return – so another great deal.
Hope you find somethin. I’m now looking for other deals for next year..

  • Andrew says:

Pair up; LHR to BKK early November (say around the 6th) BKK to LHR around the 23rd November.

  • Aston100 says:

Blackout dates seem to be in place.

  • Novice says:

I feel like this is more for publicity. They aren’t including solo travellers and seem to have blackout dates.

    • Aston100 says:

It is a companion deal. They used to have them a few years ago. So obviously solo travellers aren’t the target.

  • Ross says:

I agree that the calendar on the booking site shows the headline price for two, and it often looks fantastic. The issue is when you actually try to book the tickets the price jumps up right at the end. It doesn’t happen with every route/date combination (I can reproduce Rob’s Dubai example), but it happens with many.

    • Littlefish says:

Agree. Some routings seem to not maintain the companion pricing when you click through to the final price, so it doubles right at the end …. classic airlines IT.

  • meta says:

It seems it’s also for maximum stay of 14 days to get the lowest prices otherwise it pushes into into £1.2-3k for Oslo-Seoul for example. Good price, but I can get that for slightly more with Finnair with added bonus of Avios flexibility if I want to change return and stay longer.

It’s also Lufthansa with inferior 2-2-2 seating even if you’re traveling with a partner. Maybe fine for a quick hop to Dubai, but for other destinations not great.

    • Aston100 says:

We were in the front row (one of the window sides) of the small (2 row) cabin on an a350.
      It was fine like that.

    • John says:

Crazy? I’d be more shocked if anyone buys LH long haul business class out of their own pocket at regular prices? That would be crazy.

    • BJ says:

Good spot, not in the market until October 25 departures but 14 day maximum stay would be a deal-breaker for me. I hadn’t realised companion sales were so restrictive.

Avoid those Finnair light fares and you can get 300% credit on Alaska MP. I have not looked for a while so I don’t know if they’ve devalued JAL lije some other schemes.

    • patrick C says:

For taller people as couoles the old LH business seat is actually one of the best out there. Most cubbyhole seats have short leg room.
