Excellent 2-4-1 First and business class flights deals from the UK with Lufthansa and SWISS

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

If you thought we’d never see the return of pre-Covid sub-£1,000 long haul business class flight deals, think again.

SWISS and Lufthansa have launched an astonishing 2-4-1 sale from the UK and some other European countries.

We have fares in business class as low as £694 return to Dubai (from London) and £864 return to Seoul (from Stockholm).

You can find out more, and book, on this page of the Lufthansa website.

SWISS and Lufthansa 2-4-1 business class flight deals

Here, partly courtesy of Luxury Flight Club, are the best of the deals, starting with London departures. It is important to note these are only example deals – the booking page says that other destinations are also discounted.

Here are the rules:

  • you need to book for two or more people
  • you can travel until 30th June 2025 (best availability is September and March-June)
  • you must book by 3rd September 2024
  • it seems that a six night stay is required, with a 14 day maximum

IMPORTANT: Whilst the website says you can book for two people, you can book for 3, 4 or however many you want – although you will struggle to find flights with a lot of seats at these prices.

These flights are very much bookable

You can get seats at these prices. To make it easier, the booking page shows (when you start to select a date) a calendar showing when you can get this price. The price is shows is NOT per person, it is for the group – be aware! It won’t look as low as the headline per person price.

Here is Dubai DURING OCTOBER HALF TERM (if your kids get two weeks off) for £694 per person:

Here are two people to Seoul from Stockholm at SEK 23,000 (£1,729, so £864 each):

Where can I credit my flights?

SWISS and Lufthansa are both part of Lufthansa’s Miles & More loyalty scheme.

Because Miles & More is revenue based (your earnings are based on the price of your flight), you won’t do very well given how cheap these tickets are.  Think about a different Star Alliance programme.

The Lufthansa business class fares usually book into P class.  This page of wheretocredit.com shows what you can do with that – ‘not much’ is unfortunately the answer.

This HfP article looks at which is the best Star Alliance frequent flyer programme for you.

How should I pay?

If you are booking in £, or you don’t have a credit card with 0% foreign exchange fees, your best option for paying if you book direct is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold.

This offers triple points – 3 per £1 – when you book flight tickets in a foreign currency.  This is because the transaction triggers the ‘double points for airline spend’ and the ‘double points for foreign spend’ bonuses.  Our review of Amex Gold is here.

Conclusion

It’s fantastic to see these crazy SWISS and Lufthansa 2-4-1 deals return.

Don’t wait if you see something you want. If you are reading this via email on Wednesday morning then the best options will have gone – don’t even think about waiting until nearer the nominal 3rd September end date for these deals.

You can book on this special page of the Lufthansa website.

  • RomP says:

I’ve promised to take my partner and our 4 kids away during half term to SIN & KUL ( I have to be in SIN for a conference for the first 3 days. My daughter’s bday at the beginning of the half term. I looked at this deal but not availability for the low prices left.

Does anyone know of a travel agent or airline that I can book 2 of us in Biz and the kids in Prem or Eco? The kids are aged 9-12 and I can’t just make a booking for them. Any help or tips appreciated.

    • Manya says:

Never understood how people are comfortable in putting their own kids in a lower cabin to themselves. Genuinely interested to know how they think the kids would perceive this.

      • Deek says:

My folks went in business and put us kids in economy on a long haul many years ago, I was 13 and was thrilled at the independence!

    • Pete says:

Book one adult and one child on each booking, decide who sits where after

    • JPK says:

You have to sit with your kids or else find an airline that still offers service for unaccompanied minors. Or maybe just bring the nanny to look after them.

      • Danny says:

        The nanny lol

        • The real Swiss Tony says:

This is a better solution than the one I have seen before (AA, MIA-LHR) where the family travel in J and put the nanny in Y. But the hapless parents have no idea how to, erm, parent, so it’s utter chaos until the domestic help is summoned to the front of the plane to bring some order to the situation.

Certainly an interesting philosophical point. We’ve always all travelled in the same cabin, occasionally dropping from J to Y+ on daytime sectors now the kids are older. Don’t think I could justify flying in J or F with the kids down the back, but I don’t think people should be judgmental about that (although 9 & 12 feels too young).

    • Bill says:

Book seats in row 11 and 12 on the Malaysian A350 ex LHR to KUL

That gets you Business and Economy extra leg room in very close proximity. This addressing the unaccompanied minor issues

    • Catalan says:

This causes cabin crew no end of issues as parents then demand that their children sit with them, or failing that, have constant seat swapping going on throughout the flight.
Just book your whole family in the same cabin. Please!

I Got 2 First LON to SIN return, out with LH, via FRA back with LX Via ZRH, both short layovers also) For £2,500pp for 5 weeks trip also
Was rejected for SAS status match to LH.
Any thoughts on where to credit these flights, or is M&M the best option?
Would these 4 segments get any STAR Alliance STATUS if I credit elsewhere?
    Thanks

    • JFSV says:

Use wheretocredit.com to see mileage accumulation rate for the specific booking class of your ticket and then to see to which airline it may make sense to credit (at least based on %)

  • Niall says:

Cant see 2 for 1 anywhere – even for May June next year?? everything is priced per person – are they all gone already?

  • DavidOD says:

I booked last night after seeing the articles (only one comment at that point).Got Business from OSLO to Beijing return for for £700pp for just under a 5 week trip. The outbound flight is with Air China on the 777 and back on LH on the A350 – obviously not the most competive business products but the price is decent.

  • CamFlyer says:

    Just book everyone PE.

  • Clive says:

£1359 OSL – PEK for 2 in Business not to be sniffed at IMHO

    • DavidOD says:

Yes thats what i booked, although just over 1400 with the 3% amex fee which i included in above.

  • pointsfan says:

is anyone seeing anything left for the first 2 weeks of september? doesn’t matter too much where the departure is from.

    • Bervios says:

Yes London – Dubai wide open £1367 for two.

      • Barry cutters says:

        Where ??

It disappeared yesterday at 9am and not been seen since

        • Bervios says:

          Barry – your manners sometimes.

I’m looking at it now – You MUST select 14 days. London-Dubai 3/9 – 17/9 – other dates are wide open in September.

      • Barry cutters says:

We are looking for London to Dubai in sept or oct. Both myself and wife have checked 4-5 times a day each since 9am yesterday and there has not been anything near £1367 for 2

It is over that for 1 person

        • Rob says:

You understand that the price shown when you hover over the date selector is for 2?

          • barry cutters says:

No its not, I’m entering 4 seats and it comes up as 1400pp on on the main page anyway
6-8 day holidays are coming up at 800ish outbound plus 600 return = total around £1400pp

Yes there are some longer ones like 11-21st which works out about £700pp, but that’s specific dates its certainly not ‘wide open’ in sept and oct.

          • Rob says:

It was wide open for TWO when I typed that comment because I’d just done a search and saw the seats. The original article as far back as Tuesday says there is little around for four.

          • DavidOD says:

When you proceed to the next page the avaliable fares are “Fly with me”, if they say “business basic, the offer seats are gone”

  • Bervios says:

My initial reply was for the person asking for a 2 week holiday!
