HSBC offering a 13%-15% Heathrow Express discount

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

I’m not sure when this launched, but HSBC is offering a discount on Heathow Express tickets to current account holders.

You can book via the Heathrow Express booking page here.

If you have a standard current account, use code HSBCVISA13 for 13% off.

Heathrow Express HSBC discount

If you are HSBC Premier, use code HSBCELITE15 for 15% off.

The discount is only valid against Express Saver Return, Peak Express Saver Single, Business First Single and Business First Return tickets.

The 15% deal runs to the end of October 2024 whilst the standard deal runs until the end of 2025. You will receive your Heathrow Rewards points as normal as long as you add your number during the booking process.

There is no obligation to pay with your HSBC debit card so you could double-up with any Heathrow Express cashback deal showing on your American Express cards. Most people have a 10% or 15% cashback offer available.

If you a HSBC current account you should keep an eye on the travel pages of the ‘Home & Away’ offers website here.

Finnair also have a 50% bonus offer on buying Avios.

    • BJ says:

With a longer expiration date so no rush to buy from Qatar except Qatar are a fraction cheaper.

  • daveinitalia says:

Of course this offer has no way of telling that you’re an HSBC customer (I do happen to have a very old rarely used account that was branded Midland Bank when I opened it).

I have a Network Railcard so I get 33% off should I find the need for a HEX but the Elizabeth line is both cheaper and gets you closer to where you want to be in almost every situation.

    • Nathan Fox says:

Railcards also give you the 33% discount on the Elizabeth line.

      • CamFlyer says:

For some reason I never get the 10% LNER offer on any of our cards–only 5%. The 10% Uber trains credit works just fine, however.

    • L Allen says:

I was wondering if there was some data sharing to validate that you had the right type of account to be able to claim the offer.

There is very little point to the HEX nowadays. Paddington isn’t a very convenient station, unless it was your intended destination

      • modestpointscollector says:

Agree, Paddington was amazing back in the days before mobile apps and online check in when you could check yourself and your bags in there, and travel to the airport with the minimum of fuss, but with the Liz line going into central London it’s just a painful changeover – unless you’re looking to get a direct train back in the opposite direction to somewhere like Bristol or Cardiff.

        • Froggee says:

The Heathrow Express became dead to me the time it decided to have operational issues when I was on it resulting in me missing the last flight home and spending the night at the Sofitel without so much as a clean pair of knickers to my name.

      • Lumma says:

I live next to an elizabeth line station and thr Heathrow Express is still quicker even when changing at Paddington

  • Mikel says:

There’s also a 10% cash back offer on the BA premium plus card

  • Bernard says:

wow. Another HEX ‘offer’ you can’t use on any useful fare.
HEX need to stop the gimmicks and face facts: they have a fixed cost and seem to be running largely empty trains now (once you discount airport staff using it).
Time instead to price at £8 to make it competitive with Liz line.
The Liz semi-express T5 trains twice an hour are still way ahead of HEX. That is, when Network Rail actually get the tracks to/from Paddington to work now and then.

  • S879 says:

Isn’t BA Avios 3x boost a cheaper option compared to the QR 50% Avios buy points?

    • Rob says:

If a) you have enough Avios to boost and b) you’ve not hit your cap then potentially yes. But most people fall on a)

  • LittleNick says:

Sadly the HSBC HEX discount cannot be combined with a railcard. I guess that’s asking for too much
