This is very timely for us as planning something similar for 2025.

Have had a little look this morning for 7 nights next year, hotel + ticket.

£2k for 14 day park tix (for price of 7) and indeed dining included. I guess hopping between parks and unlimited entry isn’t bad and I’d need to work out the pay-off point where I’m better off just buying daily tix (on the basis of having some “off days”). It is good to be able to not commit to certain parks on certain days with this option.

A number of the hotel room options unfortunately terminate with a “call us” for pricing, which is a little annoying too.

Re the dining, we did similar at Eurodisney back in 2022 but (shock horror) character dining wasn’t included in our half board rate. The Auberge Cendrillon princess dining lunch was €255 on top of our already-included price but I guess YOLO and still look back at pics to this day (including receipt).

Will have more of a play today

    • The real Swiss Tony says:

Gate prices for the tickets are well north of $100 per day (plus tax, obvs…). The 14 day ticket for the UK is a bit of a hood-wink exercise to get UK guests to spend their entire 2 week holiday in Florida inside the confines of Disney, but if you’re doing more than 5 or 6 days you’re better off with this “deal”

    • Sussex bantam says:

We are just back from 2 weeks in Disney. Don’t spend too long researching the value of the 14 day UK ticket. It’s an absolute steal versus paying at the gate

      • Gareth Oakley says:

Absolutely agreed on this one – UK ticket prices for more than a couple of days are far better value and include Memory Maker. I’d also advise the same for Universal

    • Sussex bantam says:

Also be aware that due to a recent change the UK tickets now works slightly differently _ it is valid for 18 days during which you can enter the parks on a total of 14 days.

      • JohnBart says:

You get 14 days parks and 14 day water parks so you could theoretically go to a Disney park every day of a 18 day trip if you did 4 water park days

    • Alan says:

You can do character dining at WDW. The thing to watch for is some places are 2 credits, it enough not.

  • Michael C says:

I think the “big” thing about this is that dining plans had been removed for the last 5 years or so.
It’s clearly far better value than the insane $200 per person one-day ticket, and we loved the one day we did do, but I’m not sure how many days even our son would enjoy…maybe 3 if spaced out over the hols?!
Fwiw we’ve stayed in Disney Springs (HI, Hilton x 2) each time and have been very happy with the choice. Has Disney hotel benefits without being “trapped” inside!

  • FH says:

We have been twice and stayed offsite both times at Hilton Grand Vacations property Grande Villas. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with shared pools and it worked well for us having the extra space. First time we rented a car, second trip we just used Uber/Lyft. This didn’t save much money but took away the stress of driving (and at the time we went in Oct 2023 car rental prices were really high). Also meant we could be dropped off at the park entrances (apart from Magic Kingdom) which saved a long walk from the car parks to the gates.

  • JohnBart says:

Very pleased to see my DVC is still worth it, checking a random resort and room at Animal Kingdom Lodge then this new offer is £6.8k for 14-29/8/25, my room is~£2k and no way we’d spend even £5k on food. I’d be sick of eating by then 🤣
The good old days when we got a room for 4 in a deluxe resort for £2.5k for 2 weeks and free dining seem long gone

    • jp-mco says:

But how much have you spent on your timeshare and annual dues over the years?

      • JohnBart says:

That £2k factors in all purchase price and dues, I have a 17 day trip next year for under 200 points at a cost of under £10 a point staying at Boardwalk, Grand Floridian and Animal Kingdom Lodge

  • Domo1915 says:

Main benefit of staying in a Disney hotel is early park entry. Dining Plan is a false economy. Have cereal in room snacks in park good meal in Disney springs on an evening. All key rides done before lunch and no fast passes to buy on top.

  • JohnBart says:

Just to mention that free dining comes with a full rack rate room, when the offer goes then it is usually replaced with a 30% off room cost which makes it a dead heat on savings v dining plan
In other words, you can get this deal all year round

  • Mike Hunt says:

Worth noting that Disney offer very good Blue Light Discount

    https://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/faq/blue-light-card/

  • Gordon says:

Just a heads up, if you or any of your party have a disability, visible or not, on entering magic kingdom, you are entitled to a DAS pass, your wrist bands are programmed to allow access to the lightning lanes, on all rides, A massive time saver. It’s a bit more involved for universal, as you need to inform them before arrival, but we were given a temporary pass for this park.

    • Rob says:

Can you still hire a disabled to person to get one of these?

      https://edition.cnn.com/2013/05/15/us/disney-skipping-lines/index.html

      • Ian says:

Disney have cracked down on giving the DAS pass. Max family of 4 and is basically now a virtual que rather than the fast pass it used to be. Only giving it for developmental issues and have to go through an online interview

        • Gordon says:

Not sure about this @Rob, , our case was genuine! in November we didn’t have any issues with being allocated the pass, no forms to fill in etc, the longest lighting lane we had was around 20 mins, but it was only a matter of time before people spoiled it? But if you have a genuine disability you have nothing to fear.

    • jp-mco says:

It isn’t open to that level of abuse anymore I’m afraid. Disney completely overhauled the DAS system this year and it is now only available to guests with a developmental disability.

    • Alan says:

It’s very similar at Disney now as per Universals way. They turn down a lot of cases that some would say have a need. But change was needed as far too many dubious cases were having passes. There were many periods of time where 90% of ride capacity was being taken from the lightening lane, with high proportion being DAS.

It is though a very difficult subject.
