DragonPass now offering fast track security passes – no membership required

DragonPass, the airport lounge card and loyalty benefits group, has been quietly rolling out its airport fast track security and fast track immigration lane products over the last 18 months.

What makes this interesting is that, whilst it is primarily available for its members, you can buy passes on a ‘pay as you go’ basis at selected airports.

You don’t need to have DragonPass access via its apps or via any of its banking partner platforms such as DragonPass Premier+.

Heathrow Fast Track security

You can see the airports covered on the DragonPass Go website here. If you’re about to head off for an autumn break, it may be worth a look.

You can buy passes for many terminals across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, which are the regions currently covered. In the UK this includes:

  • London Gatwick (both terminals)
  • London Luton
  • London Stansted
  • Manchester (all terminals)
  • Newcastle
  • Southampton

Prices, advance booking deadlines and cancellation rules vary by airport.

Here are some examples for the fast track security product. At Gatwick, you pay $6 (yes, $ pricing) at both the North and South terminals. It is possible to book the same day that you travel.

At Luton, you pay $7.50. Same day booking is possible.

At Stansted, on the other hand, you pay $10 and need to book 12 hours in advance of turning up.

Where can you use fast track passes outside the UK?

Annoyingly there isn’t a dedicated list on the DragonPass website yet. You need to search by airport (remember that only UK, Middle East and Asia Pacific airports offer fast track) and you will then see what DragonPass products are available.

Popular airports for HfP readers where fast track security can be booked via DragonPass Go include:

  • Barcelona
  • Istanbul
  • Larnaca
  • Madrid
  • Nice
  • Palma
  • Rome

If you have access to the DragonPass Premier+ app via your bank you can also buy fast track security passes for airports such as:

  • Abu Dhabi
  • Dubai (all terminals)
  • Helsinki
  • Milan
  • Venice

The DragonPass Premier+ app is available to Barclays Travel Plus Pack, Barclays Avios Rewards and Barclays Avios Plus holders as a benefit.

The DragonPass Go website for fast track security passes is here if you want to buy or find out more.

  • TimM says:

As far as lounge access is concerned, is there a current free or cheap way to join DragonPass?

    • Steven says:

Pretty sure you get free Dragon Pass membership with Club Avolta (formerly known as as Red by Dufry).

You would then pay for Lounge access on a pay as you go basis.

      • Phantomchickenz says:

I was wondering what that Avolta thing was – I deleted the app recently as I had no idea what it was!

    • Gordon says:

Free Barclaycard avios, was £18.50, now £20.50,

      • flyforfun says:

Same for the paid version too. Missed the memo on the price rise!

    • S says:

The Regus route still works I think

  • ADroyd says:

I have Dragon Pass Premier + with my NatWest Black account.

  • Sharon says:

I have DragonPass+ via NatWest Black but can’t see any mention of Fast Track in the app.

    • Sharon says:

      Should have said Premier+

      • Nige says:

If you have the Natwest Premier Rewards Black CC, you get Fast Track anyway through Mastercard Travel Experiences. You just need to download the app and register your Black CC card number.

        • Chris says:

oh didn’t know this! I just went and checked on the Black CC website but couldn’t find any mention of this. Will it just work if I apply for the card and then register it, or has it been discontinued do you think?

  • Earthman says:

Ditto,I have dragon pass via Revolut ultra and no mention of fast track

  • can2 says:

Barclays Premier has this too it seems.
    For DXB they want £17.40?!?

    • Gordon says:

You also need one of their Barclaycards!
Free barclaycard, £20,50 entry, of Barclaycard plus, 4 to 6 free entry’s,

  • The Original Nick. says:

If I’m not mistaken I’m pretty sure that photo of Fast Track is T5 LHR?

  • The Original Nick. says:

Fast track at MAD is worth is weight in Gold

    • daveinitalia says:

Anyone with an Amex Platinum should be able to use fast track for free in MAD. Last time I was there Amex had sponsored the fast track area

      • Numpty says:

It’s meant for Spanish issued cards though, whether they check that closely though I’d doubt, they’re quite easy going at Fast Track Madrid.

  • Craig says:

Has anyone been able to use their free Dragon Pass via the Barclays Avios Account when not travelling with the main account holder?

Scenario: We have a joint Avios Premier Account, my husband is the first named on the account and he holds the free dragon passes on his app, I’m travelling separately this week but I don’t have them listed on mine? Anyone know what to do in this situation.

    • Chas says:

Would logging into your app using his credentials work? I’m not advocating cheating the system and pretending to be him (which may not work anyway if there’s a name check), but wondering if it will give you access to “your” passes.
