Virgin Atlantic makes more winter schedule changes

Virgin Atlantic is currently teasing what may be a new route announcement on social media – ‘Keep your eyes open. Something is taking off soon’. Will this finally be the launch of Seoul?
More jiggling of the winter schedule was put through this week. We’ve already covered the scrapping of flights to St Lucia but other changes include:
- Maldives – increased to daily
- New York JFK – reduced to 4x daily from 5x daily

- Orlando – increased frequency (Delta has dropped London to Orlando and Virgin Atlantic is picking up the slack)
- San Francisco – increased from 7x weekly to 10x weekly
- Toronto – reduced from daily to 4x weekly (remember that this route only launched last week)
It’s worth a reminder that tickets for the promised Accra route are still not available. This was due to launch on 1st May 2025 but was pushed back.
With Virgin Atlantic still having engine issues with the Boeing 787-9 fleet, and demand to the US starting to drop, these may not be the last changes.
Whilst the airline made a tiny profit for the first time in many years in 2024, it is beginning to look like 2025 may see a return to form ….
