Owing to tier points and cheap flight deals, we’re coming back from Australia via Jakarta CGK airport. We’ll be arriving around 7pm Indonesian time, which’ll feel like 10pm Brisbane time, and then we’ll need to fight with the queues for immigration…. Onwards flight the next day is at 2pm

I figure we’ll want a hotel at / very close to the airport, since we’ll be pretty knackered once we finally escape. Any suggestions?

I passed through CGK immigration in less than two minutes last week in the late afternoon. I guess I was lucky, but it really helps to have your e-visa on arrival printed out, and also to complete the online customs declaration in advance and have the barcode ready to show. There is a fast-track immigration for business class but I believe it may only be for Garuda Indonesia passengers. You can also pay someone in advance to meet and fast-track you but I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve not stayed at the airport so I can’t recommend a hotel, sorry.
