In case helpful. I used my 2 for 1 last week, paid using an Amex in my name but definitely not the one that earned the voucher (closed almost 2 years). BA call centre asked me to pay with an Amex but did not specify which one it had to be.

To be clear I am not disagreeing with Rob about the name thing, I needed to pay with a card on my card account to qualify for amex plat insurance.
